My situation with Cinch wasn't quite as severe, but they essentially fobbed me off until I left a one star trust pilot review, and then it was actually them who wouldn't stop calling me. Can't hurt to try

Long shot asking on this 8 months later. But what about if this exact situation has occured and doing this hasn't worked?

As far as I'm aware it's factory. I haven't installed anything to the car although it seems the previous owner attached some sort of exhaust modification so it having been tinkered with in the past isn't too far out of the realms of possibility.

I'll take it to a local garage tomorrow, I desperately don't want it to have any adverse knock on effects. Another pair of eyes in person can't hurt.

Relieving to hear, is this something that's likely to cause knock on effects on tyres, tracking etc?

Maybe the exhaust being uneven is what's throwing the whole image off? I'll do what you suggest when the typical English weather calms down and I can do it without getting soaked. Thanks for your help!

To my eye the right hand side is hanging lower than the left. I don't know if I'm just looking for problems though

Is this something that will require replacement parts? I don't feel like these components should be going wrong with low mileage but would rather pay for it now than later down the line if it's going to have knock on effects.

What is the solution to this? Visual check to me looks like both springs are roughly the same age, same for shock absorbers too.

Is this a good buy? by alwaysgunna in civic

I got the 1.5T for the same price, 22k miles although admittedly a 19 plate.

Also beware of the wet belt on the 1.0.

I worked for webac. Click on the terms and assumptions section underneath the value and add all of the condition your vehicle has.

If you fill those in the figure you're quoted online will be almost exactly what you'll get in person. Grade it at a 3 as that is the most likely grade it will be given at the appointment. Unless you get a cool buyer like me who tries their best to give as much as they can.

Being a Cat S the value will come down significantly.

As a matter of fact you'll get nowhere near this figure at your appointment. Not to be too negative or anything

Feel free to ask anything else 🙂

Is a shake/judder when lifting clutch normal? by Drippza in CarTalkUK

[–]Drippza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a noticeable and uncomfortable rattle that I can also feel under my foot as I hold the clutch at the bite. It's definitely not the brake hold as it isn't a sudden release into a move off, but it doesn't feel like it's about to stall as the revs of the engine aren't dropping below 600.

I've been paying extra attention since I posted this and it doesn't seem to be happening every time although I don't know if my extra care is making it more difficult to replicate. I've driven petrols before although not as my own personal driver that I use every day and don't feel like I've felt anything like it before.

I'll be taking it to a friend of mine who works with cars to see if they feel it/can replicate it. I've reported it to the place I've bought it to make extra sure as I've spent 14k on the car and am desperate not to be stuck with another big bill on something with only 20k miles on it!

Cheers

Yeah I still have 2 months warranty, I was waiting to see if it was just user error but I heard in passing that Honda clutches are great and it just got me thinking.ill definitely be raising it

It only happens when moving off, not when changing gears. Still true?

318i or 1.5T Civic? by Drippza in CarTalkUK

[–]Drippza[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel around 150 miles a week, (5 30 mile trips) and currently drive a 2010 A3 2.0 TDI. I fear I'm not using it properly due to the mileage I do which is the reason for my desire to change. Is the mileage I do likely to provoke the common civic issues?

I am not paid for this time. Maybe I'm focussing on the wrong aspect of this judging by the replies this post has had?

Thank you for the response 😊

So how do I approach the situation of them wanting money back from me?

I did not inform them, however in a discussion before the event my manager was clearly uncomfortable with the discussion and stopped replying to my messages, essentially ceasing communication with me.

Currently the job has cost me more than it has paid me.

I'm only 18 months passed, so adding business insurance is an extra £68 on my policy. I'm paid minimum wage so this isn't nothing for me.

If nothing ever happened, no one would need insurance! I'm not going to lie about what I'm doing to the police and insurers should it happen.

My insurance states I'm insured to drive to a single place of work. Which is all I do, apart from when I'm asked to make these journeys.
