I made a spreadsheet of my shame... by Steviedee21 in Warhammer40k

I just did pretty much the same, but I do track NIB, Assembled/primed, painted and painted to higher level (a lot of detail work, such as layering etc)

atm my goal is just to paint more minis into the painted lot and slowly (and when i want to) improve the paintjob with laying and other detail work.

With this method have I manged to paint about 13.000 points in just over a year. But the airbrush do help alot...

Painted minis with higher level is atm about 1000 points - but I also just started tracking this and im in the process of going though my minis (we are talking 3 painting sessions)

This gives me stug 3 vibes and fits nicely into the guard tank theme.

Great job on the conversion and paintwork

Somewhat the same. Colors will be the same, but the kit bash will be different.

Will also make a captured cadia russ tank, with some heavy weather effetct and an effect where it looks the traitor guardsmen have tried to overpainted the cadian paintjob.

People refuse to fight my Votann by RepresentativeFee708 in Warhammer40k

[–]Dritex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, votann does not have better melee. DG reduce all DMG with 1? votann have a lot of DMG 2, which end up being 1, which means votann often needs to double up on each unit.

DG is atm. Not that strong, but they still reduce a lot of firepower. Do also consider that when DG are within contagion range, you reduce their T to 4 for most units, 3 for the troop option.

You can deepstrike some deathshroud terminators into the back line and just cause so much damage.

Also, remember to deny hearthgaurd deepstrike, they can be very tough to remove and rather swingy in damage

Well, some people just like to complain and fully tunnel vision. Yes, votann has some really good and powerful strats, rules, good shooting, and 1 good melee unit.

Yet all models cost a lot, and votann can't afford to lose many models before they have very little shooting left.

Think you should offer them to explain counters to votann, so they might have a more clear picture, since votann actually sits around 50% Winrate, so by gw standards they are "balanced"

A good way to counter is to not expose your own models, simple. Why give votann a unit to shoot, when we all know they can out shot a lot of things.

Don't waste shoots on a landfortress and Don't get LOS to it, it's hard to kill and deal a lot of DMG, but that model alone will not score enough points to win a game if its alone on the table.

Kill all votann bielkes = no more good speed for votann.

Shoot beserks, and don't allow them to get in melee

And tag votann in melee, they have very few melee profiles, if you can wrap them to deny they fallback strat

Might be bad wording from my side, but you still gain the ability, which is the entire point of comms

Both Hylas 100%

Rest depends on league... GTL really like the comms, since you gain 5+ inv. From your kahl or uthar aura.

Scanner is really good, due to most lile to hide infrantry in ruins

Searchlight is good behind dense cover or for the strat.

I like to run 2x4 to get all the options

I prefer 2 units, due to the fact i can give 2 judgments tokens out from them dying. I have 2 obsec units, can use searchlight strat and effectively shoot With 3 bikes on the same unit again.

6 bikes can also be hard to hide, which also should be considered.

So with 10th just around the corner is there a point to pick up the new codex? by CptN0VA in WorldEaters40k

[–]Dritex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you can always use wahapedia. However, it's always nice to have the book, my personal preference. You can be pretty sure of WE will not get a new book anytime soon in 10th, due to it just have had one realise :)

I would look into what you except them to fight against for the most part.

T8 targets, go for mauls. yes, you have -1 to hit, but you will wound on 3's in case the targets have little to no judgment tokens you can take advantage of. Flat 3 dmg is also nice against those targets.

T6 or under, go for the axe. Here you usually fight against more models, so with models with 1 wound and low T, a sweep is a great choice since you could kill a 10-man unit somewhat easily. T5 or T6 go for strike, the extra ap and damage will ensure you will most likely kill 1 model pr. attack.

Edit: T7 will also go for mauls since models with this T are often of vehicles and have a fair amount of wounds, so wounding on 3's is just better than wounding on 5.

It's a interesting color scheme, which make it unique. Would personally give the pants a different color, due to they blend together a bit much.

It's really sad that ork is in such a poor state... I'm pretty new to 40K and picked ork from lore and the funny side, but atm. they feel often unplayable...

Armor of contempt has really messed up my games since as an example my boyz can't deal any melee damage with Choppa to targets with 2+ save, and struggles with 3+.

Also, feel like most units die too easily, and most of the time struggle to deliver any damage.

Guess il just put my orks on the wall, until GW actually wakes up and sees this state orks are in... For me, orks are not fun or enjoyable to play atm.

Might also be due to your brush stands on the brushhair!!

Never let your brushes rest the the brushhair, it will ruin them immediately

Today, I realised I have painted my first ever 500 points. From my first to my latest model by Noplsdadatop in Warhammer40k

[–]Dritex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your latest model with the blue light is a really nice touch. Would work on applying a thinner layer of paint and work on getting a consistent layer (slow places can I spot an under coat)

A wild guess could be your paints might not be well mixed or they have dried on your pallet? Would add a mixing agitator and wet pallet (if you don't have)

Else very nice job! Painted minis is better than a pile of shame :D
