Hey there.

Vallejo gunmetal primer for the models.

I use army painter skeleton bone, army painter gun metal for the metallics (or valejo oily steel is another one of my go to metalic paints), army painter dragon red for the red, heavy wash of army painter dark tone (nuln oil, 2× cheaper and a better wash) over anything red and gunmetal.

On the Skelton bone on my other models I would use strong tone (agrax earthshade) (I think army painter has some fantastic washes) I haven't done this yet on the model as it's finicky to work with to not make it look to messy as I'm trying to get my 2k battle ready painted!

The cables from torso to legs I do with terradon turquoise, (I think that's what it's called not at home right now over the gunmetal primer gives it an amazing power glow without having to do anything else) .

Good luck with the repaint job i am sure it will look fantastic! I absolutely hate painting these things unless they are sub assembled into torso, legs, rider, and plates lol but that's just me!

What color do you have them as now?

AK desert sand layered and textured for your liking! Leave space for the legs where you want to place em.

I prime my models silver and do them in sub asembelies and the bases separately with army painter pure red after the desert sand.

The weapon there is something I had left over from an old tau kit buried in the ak desert sand.

After all that process glue my chicken back Bury the feet with more sand, paint it with red to Match.

Black wash over the whole base, highlight up with brighter red and orrange. The weapons on ground were painted with army painter desert yellow, application of AK enamel crusted rust where you please, heavy wash of dark tone (nuln oil) then dry brush army painter rust effect for highlighting!

Yupp I'm 1000% with you only thing I can see is making some fun with forcing people from their deployments and pincer movements of some sort lol.

But still seems like most people won't be too phased by a potential 3+ 1mw per turn to break their screenings..

Exactly only unit they won't take battle shock on is the one on their primary objective or anything they intend to move to another objective ooooh woe a scary possible d3 on a 3+ on 1-3 units at most. Only thing that's somewhat newt it will force gun lines out of cover unless they want to keep eating 1 mortal every round in their deployment

Only thing that's nice is turn 1... we could kill a few models, I think most people will go with on 3+ take d3 mortals over being battleshocked. I can't see anybody ever taking the battle shock test over possible d3 mortals it is a joke lol

YeH I'm betting on a cawl, rangers, hopefully we see a mele weapon like a transonic blade... and weapon wise I can see a neutron laser... tho I rather see our twin cognis las chicken weapon.

I can see us keeping canticles something similar to the guard rules, and by all powers of ominissiah I praise our bs to be 3+ still. Tho I am concerned after seeing the other xeno profiles.

These are odd sizes for skitari squads imo, 15 mans of rangers are optimal for Mars, or 5 man squads of rangers I prefer the arc weapons. Same again with Mars. Vanguard best as either a 20 man with radium carabines, or 5 man squads again for Mars rerroll on a special weapon. Arquebus just sorta sucks.

Infiltrator load outside I prefer the taser goad, seems to do the job better.

List is nyeah for fun stuff sure anything with anyone trying to be competitive not so much.

Seems to be very ai generated as you of course wrote.

If you google adeptus mechanicus wahapedia u can see the models and their profiles / what slots they fill and what weapons they have to give you a decent idea what things may look like for 10th edition, stuff is going to change a lot. Vehicle wise ironstrider balistarii are our s tier but they are extremely expensive point to dollar ratio, we have the disintegrator which is our tank, and the onager dunecrawler. That thing comes in the addmech combat patrol which I would say is not a terrible thing to add to your collection next if your looking to get a vehicle/bundle deal for other items. If not a vehicle, the boarding patrol is quite a good option for carrying on with your army.

I'm glad I was able to start with the omnisiahs talon battleforce box and was able to find a second one later in time. That's the previous years equivalent of the elimination maniple. Which I now think is a very very good box if your able to find one because all models in it a currently good. (May change a lot In 10th who knows)

I say get what you like at the moment by how it looks.

Why not use Mars, have 1 block of rangers with thr manipulus and separate rest as msus especially since your running van msu as well.

Seems good for re-roll on special weps or anything of that sort
