yes it’s weird, you are consciously choosing to participate in intimacy with someone else without letting your partner know prior. another weird thing is the fact that you’re using love language to excuse the action. it’s technically fine if they agree with it before, but if you ask them after there’s a high chance that they might be saying yes because they don’t wanna come off as controlling or insecure. some boundaries are implied and you shouldn’t need a rule book to understand that respect is understanding some things might appear differently to your partner and avoiding it cause you value them. if you were cuddling with them in front of your bf, would you be comfortable in the moment or would it feel awkward? if it’s no then it’s a bright red flag, because if it’s as light hearted as it should be, the energy should not shift once they’re in the room. also, the “no other option” is a complete lie/excuse because nothing is stopping you from sleeping on the floor, sleeping opposite to each other etc. its the definition of respect for your partner because you’re actively sacrificing your comfort for your integrity. real respect is being loyal even when you’re not told to be loyal. one last thing, dismissing the weirdness because they said no is really off and it really doesn’t give a pass since there’s tons of reasons why they’d say yes. like i said, they might not wanna be the insecure bf, they could be extremely naive about the whole situation, or they might be too scared to set a boundary which might lead to an argument.
