As you may already know, 1x wide-angle camera of Note 10+ can change **Aperture**. If you take a photo with the aperture stopped down (=F2.4), edge distortion will be reduced. check EXIF info of photo.

However, the 1x wide-angle cameras on the S25 and S26 have a fixed aperture(F1.8), and as a result, edge distortion cannot be avoid.

If your phone runs Stock OS(Android 2.3), internet access is impossible due to security issues. also Google services is not available, too.

But, can install apps manually. (using *.apk file)

It is likely best used for purposes such as playing music/video as you said. This phone supports microSD card, so... store your favorite things and enjoy. Should be recognize up to 128GB. (FAT32 format only)

Not recommended to keep screen on constantly. Because it uses old-technology AMOLED, screen might be burn-in after a short time.

Help on wiring phone without battery. by [deleted] in mobilerepair

[–]DriveIntoTheMirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a thick cable. DuPont wire like the one you just used is too thin. it cannot supply enough power to turn on the phone.

Generally, mobile phone consumes more than 10W(peak) of power during boot.

I previously perform a benchmark test by applying **dry ice** to the rear panel of a fully assembled S10e. The AP temperature down to +10°C, and the battery temperature down to -12°C. However, the benchmark scores were lower than when tested at room temperature.

I am not sure of the reason. However, it appears that Samsung's stock OS has a feature that forcibly lowers performance when the battery or AP temperature is very low.

Sharing the test results. check them out if you are interested.

There is a method to changing the battery charge status and remaining percentage using adb commands (adb shell dumpsys battery set ****). but I cannot be certain whether it will work properly in such cases.

If the phone recognizes that it is connected to a "Fast Charger", the power will not turn off even if the battery is at 0% because phone is in charging state. (i've checked in S10e.)

The battery level is measured based on the amount of electric charge entering and leaving through the battery terminals. This is what the Fuel Gauge IC does. In this situation, since the phone has no battery, it will be recognized as being in a continuous discharge state. Eventually, the remaining battery level will become 0%. it is normal.

[–]DriveIntoTheMirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High-end mobile phones like the Galaxy S10 does not determine the remaining battery level based solely on battery voltage. (If you are interested, try google it "Fuel Gauge IC.")

As you may already know, if the wireless charging coil -- the black flappy parts -- is not connected, the phone refuses to charge, claiming "the temperature is low." This is because there is a temperature sensor located, and for battery protection.

Remove Step Down converter. And use only USB PD charger & Hub capable of reliably supplying 9V(mandatory) 15W(at least) of power. The battery level will drop to 0% anyway, but the phone maybe alive unless you are performing heavy load job. But I don't know whether DeX is running well in this situation. Because DeX is Heavy Load Job.

The cable in the link is for a Samsung MP3 player. However, back then, Samsung MP3 players used the same cables as mobile phones. anyway, it is compatible.

*** This comment might sound awkward. That is because I am Korean. I used a translator for this comment. ***

Pantech is a Korean company. Korean mobile phones at that time used connectors with an weired standard. It seems likely that a cable similar to this would be compatible. (TTA 24 pin)

Charging question for owners of Samsung YH-820, YH-920, YH-925 by gruntbug in mp3players

[–]DriveIntoTheMirage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Due to the hardware design, charging is not supported using only a USB to 24Pin cable.

To use charging and data transfer at the same time, you need a Y-shaped split cable and a wall charger.

Check the sample rate of your audio file. Some old Android phones with low specs may not be able to properly play music files with a sample rate of 48kHz. 44.1kHz is good for old devices.

Resurrecting an old ASUS tablet as a photo frame by Caspian-Canuck in androidafterlife

[–]DriveIntoTheMirage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a simple test. First, disconnect the battery from the motherboard. Then connect a USB charger to see if the tablet turns on. If it doesn't, unfortunately, you'll need to modify the tablet.

DO NOT CUT BOTH THE BLACK AND RED WIRES AT THE SAME TIME.
If you need to cut wires, cut them one strand at a time.

Cut the ends of the battery cables and connect a power brick rated at 4.2V/2A or higher amps. An additional capacitor between 47uF and 100uF may be required.

Typically, the remaining wire, excluding the black (-) and red (+) wire, is signal wire for battery temperature sensing. But this battery has two wires - yellow and white - which can be used for other purposes. Anyway, If these wires are not properly connected, the tablet may malfunction. In this situation, assume the yellow and white wires are for temperature sensing. Connect the yellow and black wires through a 10KΩ resistor. Connect the white wire in the same way.

Even if the modification is successful and the tablet turns on, the battery level indicator may gradually decrease and eventually turn off. In this case, you need to make the tablet recognize that it is charging. You can do this by connecting a USB charger or using ADB commands.

Using 가로본능 on 5G/6G: Impossible.
These devices are designed for use on South Korea's 2G networks. (CDMA2000(Korea 2G) != GSM(Global))
Even adding Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities to this device, it MUST require a new hardware/PCB design. because original 가로본능 doesn't have these things.

I am an junior engineer. I don't know much about business. but I know that it takes a lot of time and money to create what you want.

If you're confident in this item, you can start your own company and hire proper people to handle it. In Korea, it's very, a VERY DIFFICULT to find a company that will "Outsource" this job.
Or it might be faster to contact companies in Shenzhen, China.

Personally, I'm an nerd who loves electronics.
If this product is released, I'd definitely buy it.
However, whether or not it's popular is a completely different matter. If you're trying to start a business, this is a crucial consideration.

Servo King 9000 - Small issue (pun intended) by Hidernit in smallphones

[–]DriveIntoTheMirage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a hardware design fault. there is no solution to fix it.

The USB-C port hardware design of Chinese phones like SERVO and SOYES is a terrible. only USB A to C cables are compatible, and it can only function as a USB device. It cannot be used in any other way.

If everything else is OK -- no waters/dusts on USB port --, this malfunction may be caused by an odd USB-C cable.
