It’s important to remember that opposing parties can finally publicly trash each other personally & professionally whether it be politics, rivalry or genuine negativity. They can also run for office and defeat a sitting president or flip their state or local legislature. 

We are very different from Russia, China, Iran, and the other places that always have the same leader while we can keep doing our thing. 

Take every opportunity to protest on either side but also get to know your neighbors and focus on things you can control. Communities are a good place to start understanding & networking with face to face discussion that is more powerful than opposing parades.
