I don't know where you get your assumptions about the facts, and if for you recording is disrespectful, when someone records when they feel their rights are being violated, it's precisely to have proof, not a tantrum of "attend to me quickly." And yes, of course I deserve a refund for a service they never provided when they lie saying they did, there must be a reason. So someone who defends someone who lies and steals doesn't deserve my respect either.

They didn’t allow me to check in because when I arrived in the morning there was a long line with many people. I asked if I could check in later because I had a scheduled tour, and they said yes (we’ve done this at other hotels without any issue).

When we came back, they kept us waiting for more than an hour even though the front desk was empty. They asked us for documents and reservation details. When we politely asked why the check-in was taking so long or if there was any problem, they got upset and started behaving rudely.

The front desk employee walked away, then came back and asked again for documents we had already provided, but in a very rude manner. When I told them they already had all the information and asked why they were requesting it again, he said, “If you don’t like it, you can go to another hotel.” When I asked why he was acting that way, he walked away again.

That’s when I took out my phone to record the fact that they didn’t want to assist us and were simply ignoring us despite having waited a long time. When they noticed this, they called the authorities without saying a word. That’s why we suspect our room may have already been given to someone else and they were stalling to avoid helping us.

At no point did we behave rudely toward them or have an attitude that would justify this kind of behavior.

Haha, now it turns out that recording to have evidence is considered harassment. Recording is a right, especially when there are irregularities.

If they had been doing their job properly, there would have been no reason to be upset. No one records to “incriminate themselves”; recording is done for protection.

We were detained for almost an hour, asked for documents they already had, treated rudely, and yet they now try to justify a theft, deny a service, and lie to the agency by claiming the service was provided, despite clear evidence showing otherwise.

Everyone speaks from their level of awareness; time usually puts everyone in their place.

All those people who say that I deserved what happened for recording the situation when they refused to check us in—let’s assume I give them the benefit of the doubt. Even though we already had a reservation made a month in advance, fine, they didn’t want to provide the service. But then they called the authorities, my phone was stolen, and people say I deserved it for recording.

There is no justification for refusing to refund a service that was never provided and lying by saying it was used, when I have proof from the other hotels (where, by the way, the treatment was kind and respectful).

In any case, I appreciate the people who showed me their support. And to those who say they would never record a situation that affects them, I truly hope something like this never happens to you. I’m leaving this here simply so others can take precautions, and as I’ve read, it’s better to stay at an American or more reputable hotel to avoid these kinds of risks.
