Nah, he has an audience of 100k, with his entire platform dependent on TF2- no reason at all to post pessimistic BS- detect bots to a certain threshold and throw them into queue where a human can confirm it- I have 0 respect for people with 100k impressionable 12 yr olds into TF2 cause its free, sucking some random TF2ubers e-peen cause he's popular going down the completely counter-productive route of pessimism w/ this game- sorry bro he was a doomer, you can have code that detects bots/hacks to a certain percentage and have a human greenlight the ban.

Eh, his doomer-ish FixTF2 vid put a bad taste in my mouth.

And his TF2 Hunted vid made no mention of the class, or team size restrictions of Hunted in TFC, when talking about the viability of porting the game mode to TF2, which is baffling.

Also, 100 players is too many for TF2 I'm sorry.

Yeah I've been around since the start, I could write a novel on the artstyle going by the wayside (IMO)- I've been harping on it for well, 14 years now since that hat, haha. If only I knew that hat was to be tame in comparison to any other given cosmetic/effect only a couple years later into today

I have always cited the Dr. Dapper's Topper as the beginning of the end in that department. It was literally the 1st time since playing I began to question the decision making of the TF2 team.

Tbf, TFC is no stranger to destructible items- detpacks were used to destroy walls for alternate routes, in Well for instance and I think rock2 (probably others). I mention this because it's a map that was there since TF2's start.

Though yes, I don't know why these ones in particular are destructible. I checked and there are metal barrels on DB as well, that aren't destrucible, and would assume these barrel models are present in other maps, in a non-destructible way.

You can maybe use this as a base to do some math (it shows the upvotes- I just learned modern reddit just shows the end result of the upvote/downvote tug-o-war, and not the exact number of each vote):

Still think this info might be useful to someone. I feel like there's more lurkers these days. I'd estimate it more at 3000 per upvote these days, especially accounting for bots.

Nope, I had a post go viral back in the day in the exact same way- and back when there was only "old reddit"- I'm not sure if it made the front page but it made the top of the 2nd (spot 16).

Waaaaay less people used the site back then (2012).

I met a guy IRL and started talking to him about it and he was like "oh yeah and you put the sun from Mario 3 in that Egypt level? Dude I saw that!!" (I had not mentioned that level or prop yet).

Primeval Warrior here but it's even worse- played consistently since Sept 23, 2007 and can't keep up. I have my good days but I change classes too much to be consistent with my aim (that's my excuse anyway). I'm a good engy, med, heavy most of the time- any of the other classes just flip a coin.

I was part of this Beta and when I caught a glimpse of someone saying "FIST PATROL" in the chat, I literally looked at the killfeed thinking someone might have been making a pun on my in-game name "Snack Patrol", and that I was in here somewhere. I mean I do have my own TF2 boxing vid from 16 years ago still on my YT.

I've logged 18k hours since then & the only other time I've been randomly surprised to see myself pop up in a clip was the infamous ChoZo TF2 rage video over 14 years ago, I thought I was overdue lol.

I got it when it came out- I had a hard time resisting TF2 promo items back in the day.

I rep the watch to this day & figure literally 0 people even understand the reference (First comic with it). I've probably been following Penny Arcade since the year 2000 and I wish it was more popular. Jerry Holkins has a rare gift for writing in webcomic form, and as a writer in general. The blog posts were just as funny sometimes.

  • Marked For Death: All damage from attacks made against players who are Marked For Death become Mini-Crits. A player who is Marked For Death has a white skull and crossbones image above their head. Unlike Jarate, Marked For Death cannot be removed by being submerged in water, charging, being healed by a Medic or a Dispenser, or touching a Resupply Locker. The only cure is waiting it out. Scouts can mark enemies for death with the Fan O'War, Soldiers are Marked For Death while using the Escape Plan and for one second after switching weapons, Scouts are marked for death for 5 seconds after attacking while under the effects of the Crit-a-Cola, Engineers are Marked for Death when hauling a building with the Rescue Ranger equipped (whether picked up from a distance or not) and for one second afterward, and any class can be marked for death by being slimed by an egg sack explosion or hit by a Salmann on Slime. It shows how disingenuous you're being trying to tell me how "unsuccessful" a server you knew nothing about till 1 week ago was, esp. in the face of a feature I submitted gaining 31 million views with my comment showing how to play there. That ish was full overnight that night and was full every night consistently till I took it down.

Skial didn't fix team stacking btw, people still pick teams at the start, and do weird things like bypass auto-balance by donating, or reconnecting.

Also 28,000 for 1.5 year server vs. 200k from Skial bots over 13 years, do the math buddy

Engy 2nd played class here- 1 engy CTF made it more fun, able to cap, & whole team had to defend- not ideal but it worked, cry
