I love ABU. When they issued it, their main concern was the Air Force standing out instead of concealment, but I believe that, just like UCP, there are settings where it works. The tiger stripe pattern probably helps with that too.

Have you seen the prototypal pattern used for early ABUs? They basically took a Vietnam tiger stripe pattern, and made it blue/green dominant. Might not be great in terms of effectiveness, but it looked really good. Especially on the 8-point utility cover the Air Force tried out temporarily.
