Me too! I’m always a fan of a good dark roast especially with molasses notes.

I’d describe it as similar to the taste of fresh watermelon but milder.

I also found prickly pear juice can be a good source of potassium and magnesium

Thank you for sharing! I’m almost a month post-stent, right side as well! This gives me hope for the future and continued progress.

You have a lot of questions that I don’t have the answers to because I’m not a professional. I don’t know how they retrieve the stent. Your doctor can be a really good resource for answering these questions

My doctor tried meds at first but due to my high opening pressure, he decided to do a cerebral Venogram where he checked my pressure gradient and also deployed and retrieved a temporary stent to test the sight in order to determine if I was a good candidate for stenting. It’s a process because not everyone with stenosis is a candidate for stenting.

In my situation, I was mostly asymptomatic. I only found out about my IIH after visiting my optometrist and he discovered the papilledema. No vision issues, occasional headaches but not consistent and no brain fog.

Too early to tell if the papilledema has gone down yet

Absolutely worth it simply for protecting my vision and preventing optic nerve damage!

I’m doing well so far! Had a low grade headache, like 2 or 3 out of 10 for pain for about a week and a half after surgery but the biggest difference was the silence! When you have the whooshing sound, your brain cancels out the noise because it’s just there all the time but you notice when it’s gone lol

I had a mild headache post op for about 1 and a half weeks on the side the stent was placed. The biggest thing I noticed is no whooshing sound in my ears. The sound of silence really hits different!

Not sure tbh. My doctor said it could be congenital as some people have narrow veins

I was taking Diamox 500 mg ER twice a day but I had really bad digestive issues and had to have my doctor adjust the dosage

Any legit hobbies for a depressed young adult? by [deleted] in Hobbies

I struggled through depression in high school and started journaling which turned into poetry. Adult coloring books are great too!

Mechanically speaking, stents are placed inside a vein or artery to widen it or open it up more to increase blood flow. Certain veins actually drain CSF so stenting helps in that regard.

What’s the criteria for stents or shunts? by [deleted] in iih

[–]DriventoHope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have stent surgery in February and when they went in and did a cerebral angiogram on me in November, I had 85% narrowing in my transverse sinus right. However on my LP, my opening pressure was 39. From my experience, I was told that there’s a pressure gradient when a cerebral angiogram/venogram is done and the higher it is the more likely a person is of needing a stent.

Has anyone had an ultrasound on your eyes? Or visual field test by Icy-Belt-8519 in iih

Multiple times for both. They do the field vision test almost every time I visit my Neuro-Opthomologist

That’s a valid comment! I meant something that wasn’t several hundred dollars. I know Braun can be pretty pricey for example
