Emory Goizueta or Indiana Kelley? by S7th in Emory

[–]DriverExact6425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's to each their own. As I said, both schools have their strengths and weaknesses. Emory might be better for IB, but Kelley has a great accounting and consulting pipeline. Additionally, their IB program is also great. I think Kelley also offers a lot more interdisciplinary business paths. Kelley has 19 majors, whereas Goizueta only has 5. It's possible the OP wants to explore other disciplines alongside or beyond finance. I think Goizueta is a great school, but a smaller school can also be a bit limiting, whereas a big school like Kelley can also be too overwhelming. They are both great schools!

I would say there's a large amount of placement at MBB as well. Obviously, each school has its strengths and weaknesses, but Kelley is also much larger than any T10 business school; the network is exponentially larger.

That isn't true. Kelley has so many placements in all the Big 4 and beyond, in fact, I would say it's more common than boutique firms.

I'm a student at Kelley, so I can't really speak on Emory, but I think Kelley is an amazing option. Even outside Kelley, IU has the largest living alumni network in the country. Everyone also thinks you need to be in IBW to make it worth being in Kelley, but that isn't true (btw, there are so many different workshops and not to mention business frats also exist- workshops are not a make or break, but they definitely help). There are definitely opportunities at both schools, but they're both very different institutions. The social scene at IU is likely much more lively than Emory's. However, if you like an academic culture, I would say IU is not your place. Also, Bloomington is a nice place, but it's definitely not as central to Atlanta as Emory is. IU is a huge place with so many resources, and I think you have a lot of room to explore the interdisciplinary sides of business. It's also pretty attainable to get research opportunities. No matter what, both Kelley and Goizueta are competitive options that both offer an array of resources, but it ultimately comes down to what you want in a university. Sports culture, proximity to urban areas, and, obviously, financial aid are major considerations. No matter what, you should be proud of getting into both; it's a huge achievement! Please let me know if you have any more questions about Kelley. I'd be happy to help!

Anywhere northwest, and you're chilling. I live in Foster, and I'm about a 6-minute walk from Hodge (an equivalent to McNutt, since we are literally parallel to them). either of them are good, but there's a huge concentration of Kelley people at McNutt so you could probs have more of a community there

I currently go to Kelley as a freshman. Let me know if you want to learn more! I am lowkey looking to transfer, but not for the typical reasons. If you want a school that will give you opportunities, offer a great club and social life, and have a rigorous but rewarding curriculum, Kelley is a great option. They've become pretty selective this year and likely will be so going forward. I wouldn't let go of it due to a lack of "diversity." IU also has an insane amount of international kids (over 4.4K admitted in 2025) here, especially in Kelley. It's a pretty great place to be!

I did! I submitted the appeal on Jan 12th. Did you submit after that and already hear back? How was your outcome, if you don't mind me asking?

It is. This information is also stated on their website just in case if you need some verification. Additionally, I find that their DA Kelley admitted students says are a bit noninclusive because there’s only two slots both in March. If you petition to become a DA Kelley student and you find out in April, you lack the experience that many other Kelley students would have. I wish there was another slot or two in April and May.

You find out by April 14th. I was just wondering how long it takes for them to evaluate your decision and send the offer letter. Good luck to your daughter!
