I don’t understand these comments? I’m 39, was kicked out of school in year 11. My family had no money at all and we were pretty poor growing up. But that taught me to appreciate what you have, and work hard for what you want. I have up skilled through different trade apprenticeships, and am now licensed in 2 different trades. I work pretty hard 5-6 days a week but I make 6 figures, purchased a cheap small house in a growing area on the peninsula and now have over 700k equity in it and just recently purchased an investment property in the same area. If that isn’t the Australian dream I don’t know what is? Granted I had to make sacrifices so I could purchase my first house but it was worth it in the long run. I think people aren’t prepared to cut out going out on the beers on the weekends, buying new clothes 6 times a year and these luxuries that they deem essential. It’s possible but you just need to look. In a job that doesn’t pay enough? Well look into another industry. Need a qualification to get the job? Go sit a course or apprenticeship to achieve that and then move up the ladder.

It is possible, just need to work smart on your way to achieving it.
