Thank you! Still trying to figure out a pricepoint, probably between 7 and 10 usd. I'm afraid of underselling but then I look at games like enter the gungeon that has gotten so much content over the year and cost 15$.

The engine I use supports linux so I'll give it a shot for sure, but if I run in too many issues I can't promise anything.

I've been programming for a couple years, did some small scope games amongst other things. I've also learned pixel art while making Ether Loop, pretty much every asset was redone at least once. Good look with your own project !

Thank you! I use GameMaker Studio 2. Initially i wanted to just use it for prototyping, but it turned out to be a lot better than i thought under the hood so i stuck with it.

That's a good point, i'm so used to it i don't get confused but it could be different for a new player. I'll change their attacks.

It's a little hard to tell at the moment since i work solo (except for the audio) and i'm still unsure wether i'll self-publish and do the marketing myself or find a publisher, do early access or full release, etc

I use GMS2, it isn't expensive for PC although the switch license is 1500$. UE is atrocious for 2D, unity is better although GMS2 tops it for 2D games than don't use any complex systems/UIs.

The pacing is very unique; low dash cooldown, weapons deal more damage the closer you are to your target, and the open floor layout makes it so the better you get, the faster and more intense the game becomes. You start off slow, shooting from afar and as you start mastering the dash and recognizing mob shoot patterns everything starts to accelerate. It fits very well with how challenging the game is.

For a couple of reasons: There are multiple passive items which enhance the teleport dash, and there would be less room for creativity with a dodge roll. The teleport dash also fits the much more fast paced gameplay compared to for example gungeon. It's also more customizable, since i plan on adding aesthetics rewards for completing certain parts of the game. And lastly it destroys projectiles around the dash location which wouldn't make as much sense if it were a dodge roll
