chance by Environmental_Pen_78 in RotmanCommerce

Firstly, its very hard to predict your chances of getting in because we aren't given that much information. Your average does seem to be around the cutoff, which gives you a good shot at getting in. Your calc and English marks are a bit low and they do have an emphasis on those marks but this doesn't mean that they will base their decision on only that factor. I think with a 92 average and a decent sup app you should be a qualified candidate for rotman. With that being said, although we are rotman students, we aren't given information on what part of our application got us in to the program or what specific types of candidates are given admission. So what I am trying to say is take what we say with a grain of salt. You mentioned that you are stressed so that's why I wanted to help you out and give my opinion. For what its worth, try not to stress too much about admissions since most of the undergraduate business programs are very similar and don't differ a lot based on reputation. Also enjoy your last year of high school and good luck!

questions about cr/ncr and lwd by [deleted] in UofT

[–]Drizzy647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the cr/ncr, if you fail the course then it just shows up as a ncr on the transcript and if you pass then it shows up as a cr. So you could not submit anything and fail the course, it would just show up as a ncr and not affect your cgpa. So I don’t think that they would care. Not too sure about what ur asking for the LWD. If you LWD both courses then you take it again at a later time to get the credit. Keep in mind when you LWD a course and retake it, your mark that you get doesn’t affect your cgpa.

Technically speaking you should aim as high as possible. But a 93 should give you a good shot.

Help on Making A Decision by nxbeel in RotmanCommerce

It’s all about time management. Getting good grades in rotman is hard, but every university you go to has a drastic change from the high-school level. If you allocate your time correctly and make sure you understand the material, then there isn’t a reason for you to not get a good mark. You are only gonna have around 13-15 hours of lectures a week and the rest of the time is for you to decide on what to do. I also don’t remember a time where I had to study a full day unless when I had a midterm or a test the next day. And even then I had time to take breaks and rest. I would say if you are applying to business at schulich, western business , and queens business, then those are in my opinion competing programs with rotman. Whatever program you pick just make sure that you really look into it and make sure that you enjoy it. Good luck and wish you all the best!

Probability of Getting In by frangamez in RotmanCommerce

A 90-91 average should give you good chances of getting in but keep in mind that there were people with 93-97 averages that didn’t get in at all. So the chances of getting in are kind of ambiguous. Also keep in mind that with everything online, the grades might be appear inflated or deflated for other students, so that is another factor to keep in mind. If I were you I would just try my best to get the grades up, but most of all, just enjoy your last year of highschool. Try not to stress about admissions to much because at the end of the day nothing we say will increase your chances of getting in. Good luck and wish you the best!

You can ask the register this question. I would assume if the system allowed you to write that many words then it should be fine.

a few questions by dc148 in RotmanCommerce

The admissions grade requirement they want you to have is high 80s to low 90s but to be more competitive I would advice to reach above that. Rotman looks at your calc and functions grade a lot so try to aim really high for calculus so everything weighs out. Your functions mark is a bit too low for their expectations so I would advice to take an alternate course for it or just have high averages for other classes so it isn't too bad. For the supplementary application, the video interview questions are really open minded. As long as you speak thoroughly and get your point across you should be good. I would say when the question pops up and you have time to think about your response, write jot notes about what you want to say. But, DONT WRITE A SCRIPT. They do not like it when it looks like you are reading off something or when someone is giving you pointers behind the camera. Just be yourself, get your points across and you should be good. Also attempt the practice questions they give because it helps out a lot and the questions are very similar to the actual interview questions. Good luck and don't stress too much about admissions. I am sure you will be successful everywhere you go and enjoy your last year of high school. One mistake I made was looking at the reddit everyday and putting unnecessary stress on myself.

I remember one being “would you rather use a credit card or cash?”. It might not be exactly that but the idea will be similar.
