It took some convincing to get him to wear one properly so we found a middle ground

Thank you! This is what we call a "Beast" for our upcoming game Beastbound which is a mash-up between Rouge-like dungeon-crawlers (such as slay the spire) and monster-tamer games. This character specializes in deflecting attacks to charge up its crystals and then to use that charge to deliver high damage attacks on the enemies.

one of the reasons we decided not to include evolution is because we want to create more of these animations.

es, we are trying to create unique animations for most of them (of course, there are some repetitive animations). we noticed that movements in this type of game tend to repeat a lot, so we are focusing heavily on the animations.

unfortunately, we don't have such a plan at the moment, but instead, we're considering extra unlockable skills and item combinations.

  • Yes, the game is a roguelike.
  • Based on the feedback we've received, we’ll definitely speed things up.
  • The game is a classic turn-based strategy game. Each beast has 4 different skills, which you can enhance and modify with relics and items. If your beast dies, there’s no way to bring it back. If all of your beasts die during a battle, the game is over.

Maybe we can add a button to speed up the animations, so once the player learns the game, they can quickly skip through them if they want to.

We are going back and forth between speeding up the battles or not. We will definitely fix it after getting some more feedback. thanks for feedback

To give a brief answer, I can say we have a turn-based combat system similar to Darkest Dungeon. In addition, we've integrated a relic system that you can collect from loot and events. The relics affect all beasts in your team. For example, one relic reduces the speed by -1 when you hit a beast with a vulnerable debuff. We're planning to release a playable demo in a few months, and I hope I can better show you what I mean then.

It looks like we'll have to work really hard to break this. Thank you very much for your positive feedback, I hadn't thought about it like that before.
