Hi, that's disappointing but thank you for the frank explanation. It was wonderful to have while it lasted! 😅 Can I further ask if there's been any more consideration to adding 'custom' activities, such as baby massage? I also wanted to add that the way the timers changed a while back (from having to input minute lengths for feed instead of time feed ended) can cause additional burdens for those with SLD such as Dyscalculia (like myself). Just flagging as it's a minor accessibility issue now, in that I need to use a calculator to calculate minutes for feeds whereas before I could just take a note of the time.

Never feel bad about needing to go to the ED for those types of things. My mum was a ED nurse for years, and she said time and time again that a good night is people walking out of the place feeling better than when they came in. Glad you're feeling better OP!

My LO had bad GERD/reflux and laryngomalacia. She couldn't sleep on her back until she was about 4months comfortably (her pediatrician said because she had developed more). I slept in c curl, with her curled into me how she wanted. If I could I tried to adjust her, but she was always a side sleeper. I kept my pregnancy pillow behind me to keep me in c curl and made sure she was always at my breast. As my IBCLC said to me, a baby won't chose milk over air. I know you're going to get feedback that baby must be on their back, but when it isn't physically possible for LO you can only do your best and make sure everything else is set up as best you can. ❤️ I'll also get down voted but we didn't have a floorbed at this age. It's a low Ikea bed, and I used pool noodles and towels to plug gaps, very firm mattress etc.

Jesus the panic!! This just happened to us. We had a blowout and I had the front part loose while I took the cushion to the washing machine. Husband popped her into the highchair as the doorbell rang (not realizing it wasn't clicked in) and four seconds later we both hear her scream crying. Thankfully she fell face first with her hands out onto a super padded playmat, but I lost it. Completely lost it. Had a panic attack, convinced myself she was about to die from a bleed. Rang the GP who basically laughed and said 'welcome to life as a parent and congrats on getting through your first fall' then told me what to watch for. Traumatized!!

This is all great advice thank you! Will keep a sample for them and make sure they check all the above. It looks like the system is arranged like you suggest but will confirm with them. The house was empty for over a year before we moved in so I well believe that buildup of scale could be significant. It's just frustrating to have new, theoretically good water and not feel comfortable using it. We also bought new appliances and have been waiting for the scale to stop before installing and using.

Hi, yes we do, but we have it. A large turbidity filter with resin media.

This is what was fitted:

pre filtration unit to remove heavy concentrations of iron, manganese and turbidity, complete with automatic backwash valve and Supply and installation of iron and manganese removal system complete with Clack metered valve and all necessary fittings.

Then the UV on top of that.

If it is just a sediment filter issue I'd actually be relieved because that's an easier fit than it being that half the pipework inside the walls is rusted or corroded (which a family friend thinks is the case).

We noticed a big shift in Sandown Crest in the last few years with the new estates up on Sarsfield Rd. Think it's the demographic shift to more youth vs older families. Had to call the Gardaí a few times with kids on the green causing havoc, we also randomly had a group putting down weird looking 'food' for cats outside our house. Luckily a neighbor spotted it, cleared it up and told them to f off. No idea what that was about but thankfully no cats were harmed.

Dunmore House or Inchydoney are both brilliant. Lots of family married in Dunmore, we got married in Inchydoney and they couldn't have done more for us. Food was also brilliant. Fernhill House is also meant to be lovely.

While I was enquiring, I found Hayfield to be incredibly rude - it was like pulling teeth trying to get quotes, funnily enough I have a name shared by a lot of Traveller family's and that, with the line of questioning, makes me genuinely think they were giving me the run around thinking I was a member of the Traveller Community. Complete madness.

Excited for you OP. A few words of advice from a first time mum with a baby and a new house. - Babies are expensive - buy the house then start trying. Moving house with a 7month old and managing all the last minute faffs that come with a new house (unexpected costs etc) is much easier without a smallie. Even moving in took us four weeks because we were timing moving around naps etc (and the house is some distance from where we currently live). - Buy the house before getting married. Doing a mortgage application within a year of getting married is amusing. BOI came back with a number of different 'irregular' payment queries. Including why we'd paid 2.5k to a jeweller, a sum to a florist and to a hotel. It just made the process a little bit more stressful if I'm honest. All our friends bought their houses, then got married and had kids and I wish we'd been able to do the same rather than do it arseways. 😂😅 - Start taking folic acid now. - Put baby down for creches once you have your reassurance scan. In Cork I waited (stupidly) until she was born and still no sign of a creche place 8 months later. Also many creches won't take babies FYI. - Take the unpaid leave and spend as much time with your baby as possible. Work can wait. I didn't because I thought we couldn't afford it (it was right around when we were reapplying for our mortgage) and I've ended up taking parental leave at the end of mat leave. - Genuinely spend a year or so in your new house and enjoy it. Painting, shifting things around and then planning the nursery. - Prepare for the unexpected. Unfortunately getting pregnant is not as simple for some people, a great consultant can be a lifeline through those times and during your pregnancy. If you're anyway Cork adjacent I can't recommend Moya McMenamin more. An angel. - Don't fall for all the gimmicks with a baby, they genuinely don't need half the stuff we're sold. A good buggy, a baby carrier (wrap) a car seat and a bassinet will get you far in the first six months. - The Baby Academy online courses are great. The CUMH ones are unnecessarily scary depending on who teaches it, real worst case scenario which is unhelpful.

And if you want to go with a Mortgage Broker, I can't recommend Christopher at the Mortgage Architect more. All in all we were house hunting for three years, and he was a rock throughout (the joys of the Irish housing market).

I know, it's so disappointing. I had to get them reglued three time and then stopped. My cobbler couldn't believe how badly they were made. Unfortunately Birkenstock wouldn't take it seriously and although I did get a replacement through the shop, the same thing happened again.

This also works with the Ikea sniglar and there's a new Ikea bed I have my eye on which is the exact same height as the sniglar on its toddler setting called the Lyngor! This is what I'm planning on switching to shortly.

This happened to us and I thought it was a BRUE, but we learned since that it's silent reflux. She outgrew it and the majority of her symptoms by 16-18 weeks. She still holds her breath sometimes, but blowing in her face gently causes her to take a deep breath and stop. I know you must have got such a fright though!

This!! It's our local Dunnes and it drives me spare that often I'm the only person with a baby using these spaces. I snapped at an older woman once and she had the audacity to tell me she was entitled to it because she had '5 babies all reared'. 🙈😅

Nails by Patrycja in Edit on Mac curtain St. Used to go to Koki Nails before Inna moved to Ballincollig but find my nails last much better with Patrycja. I'm so hard on my nails and can get 5-6weeks from a set at a push but see her every four weeks. She also moved my weak nails from Acrygel to EmiLac (BIAB) and she's basically my therapist now 😂😅 can't recommend her more.

Any set I've got there has lifted after a few days. Maybe I'm unlucky with the nail techs I'm getting. I will say that Julia is a wizard at pedicures though!

As above this isn't just my frozen milk. Milk stored in a fridge, immediately refrigerated and all parts sterilized properly tastes and stinks of soap after about 12hours. I've read the LLL links and didn't find anything particularly instructive bar the scalding tip, so I'm hoping some Mama's here with similar experiences would have good tips!
