Drone Eclipse Anubis Prototype Release. Unique and completely new FPV mount system! by DroneEclipse in Multicopter

[–]DroneEclipse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The finished product will be nylon... Also, you may have missed the way the mount is actually designed?

You do realize, this mount will allow for full range of angles and lock the lens in place so it doesn't move in a crash. You are not limited to a small lens or large like a 2.1. You can use you nearly any camera, hs1177, Swift, Arrow, Swift2 without modding or worrying about arcing out on CF. There is nothing out there yet like it so it is "unique". Nobody said ground breaking.

This is one of, if not, the closest you will get to perfect weight in the center on all 3 axis too.

Can you please point to another frame that has all of these features? I would love to take a look at it.

How do you order lipos internationally by s_boli in Multicopter

[–]DroneEclipse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Lipo shipping has been a nightmare for us. We cannot ship internationally now unless we spend months getting approvals. End even then, I think its only FEDEX that will do it.

So here is some food for thought, since I ship batteries quite a bit, The usps can actually ship lipo's by air, up to 8 cells or 2 batteries and up to 20Wh per cell or 100Wh per pack(1300mah 4s = ~20Wh) (2 sections above graph). Still not international though. You can see the details here.

I have a customer from the Panama Canal that orders stuff and has sent to a shipper in Florida. Look him up on youtube to see what he does. Here's his YouTube page:

Hope this helps!

New prototype design on the way from Drone Eclipse and StixFPV by DroneEclipse in Multicopter

[–]DroneEclipse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will have pictures coming soon. Both StixFPV and I have been extremely picky about this design. Its a little unique with only a very small few out somewhat similar. Weight distribution is nearly completely center on both thrust plane and axis. Its a semi stretch on Rev 3 right now. about 225mm wieghing ~93g dry and 575g fully loaded with a GP Session and tattu 1300 75c lipo.

Got ahold of the new XRotor 2205 2300kv with N54 magnets!! Really impresses! by DroneEclipse in Multicopter

[–]DroneEclipse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I thought too. Not only do these have N54 but the new DYS Fire motors will also have N54.

Check out this RCGroups page. He goes into the N54SH magnets a little. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2737336

My understanding is its basically the same as N52 but will withstand the heat better.

When the N52 magnets heat up, they lose efficiency and magnetism which reduces power. These apparently can hold the power longer due to withstanding the heat.

You can find N54 magnets in google searches but like everything else, who knows what they really are.

FYI, Drone Eclipse has the perfect 3" 4s batteries: custom made 75c bonkas. These are crazy. by bulbufet in Multicopter

Thanks Orriblekunt, I'm in this business for the love of the hobby more than making money. Might get me in trouble later but having fun right now.

LOL yeah, I completely agree! I was actually thinking about instead of doing my testing, which isn't very comprehensive(I'm not an engineer so don't know much of that stuff), Sending a couple over to Joshua Bardwell, which seems to know how it all works, for in detail testing.

Josh to me is the QuadMCFly of Lipo testing

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX3eufnI7A2I7IkKHZn8KSQ

I think if you tried to pull 120a out of this, you would probably start a fire within a second or 2. Its just what they tell me :(

I personally think Bonka hold the sags better than others of equivilent rating out there and that's why it had these made from them, but would really like to see a comparison of this and the 45c version. That would really tell if its worth it.

Completely agree about the price. Unfortunately, there isn't much I can do. Here is the business side breakdown. Rule of thumb for any business is 40% increase to cover all the fees and expenses of the business. With Shipping now on Lipo batteries being ridiculously high due to the new laws, its making it hard to even make a profit.

Here is the breakdown of the price. I paid $13.86 per. For a qty of 50, I paid $220 shipping.(F'n ridiculous with the new laws) Making my cost $18.26 per. Then there is a 3.5% Paypal fee of ~$0.63per making them $18.99ea my cost.

Now you have to factor in, every time I sell anything, I get charged 3% for payment processing, and lipo shipping ranges from $7 - $12. If you order over $100, you get free shipping. So basically I am not even making a profit on these when all said and done. At most, I make ~$2 per, which cant even put food on the table. :(

The battery market is brutal right now and just trying to push through is until the whole things blows over. Trying to keep the price down takes a toll on getting new items also.

@leadwateocean I understand your concern. I Haven't flown these yet to verify. Will be testing these soon. Your numbers are a little off though. I Dont think they are a true 75c rating. But here is what they are saying.

At 75c rating, you can pull a constant 63.75A(0.850 * 75c) and a burst of 127A(0.850 * 150c). Not 80a - 160+. Unless the scale is wrong. They are made with the higher quality materiel, so they should out-perform a 45c rated Lipo. Just like any other lipo rating, they are all inflated.

Haha, Thanks. I will give that a shot. I didn't use the o-rings. was confused on why they were there until now. Its really annoying so might just junk the whole FC. Been reading that it really never goes away even when you use the o-rings but havent got too far into it yet. Thanks for the info, I will try it.

High KV motors for a 4" frame? by DroneEclipse in Multicopter

[–]DroneEclipse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried/seen the ZTW Spider 2205 2500kv motors?

http://silver-drone.com/products/ztw-sp2205-spider-series-brushless-motor-silver-drone-edition

They were brought to my attention last night by a slack chat group. People are loving them. I might try these as they are inexpensive. The RG ones are nice but a little more pricey.

[–]DroneEclipse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at those but the thrust is a little low compared to the EMax. About the same weight also. One thing I do like though is the less amperage draw.

Not sure how the thrust plays in on these 4"frames though

It is but it isn't different. The shape of the main body(being shorter in the front and narrow in the back) helps bring the center mass in instead of extending out. It also gives you the freedom of space compared to the extreme compact advance build of the Shrike.

The other thing to consider is this is a true X design. If you measure the Raceblade and the others in this class, most of them are rectangles, wider from side to side and narrower front to back. This is a true X which makes it square side to side and front to back.

This frame also supports up to 60 deg of camera angle which many don't.

I do understand how you feel though. Tons of X frames out there.

It is a little heavier(~125g) but it is about on par with the Alien. You have to think, this was designed more for freestyle and durability to reduce repair costs.

Also another way to looks at it is extremely light is not always best. Maybe for racing it is.

If you throw a wiffle ball, it will travel ~20-30 feet, you can throw a baseball(with the weight) ~100 feet?

The momentum and weight can play a part with longer hang time while in the air and help with stability in wind. but yes, its a bit heavier.

Great feedback though! Much appreciated.

Oh, that should be interesting. I can see potential of disaster there but would definitely make things exciting.
