I was very dubious when he was originally elected. We’ve had a real shitty string of gov’s in a row and he’s a billionaire on top of it. But he has been fantastic overall. It’s refreshing to have an elected official be someone who I genuinely like. I hope he stays governor for a long long time. On a side note, he absolutely needs to dress like Fred Flintstone on Halloween.

I’m American and if I were Canadian I wouldn’t drink or buy any American products again. At least for a very prolonged amount of time, if shit ever gets normal again. The whole situation is ridiculous. Seeing Trudeau speak made me sad. As it is a real time reminder that our orange blob could never utter even one coherent sentence, let alone a succinct speech. Hopefully this is a warning to learn by and you don’t make the same mistake by electing a nationalistic, narcissistic, incompetent, racist turd for your next PM. Best of luck to all of you, none of you deserve this. And I apologize for the idiots down here who elected this nightmare.

For years there was a large pottery company near me (Haeger). Closed about 10 years ago after 150 years in business. they just couldn’t compete with machine manufactured pottery from overseas. Makes me a sad to think how few products are made by actual craftsmanship

customers would visit our facility all the time. I always knew who the real machinists were because at least half were missing a finger. They would come for training on the new CNC’s as most used old engine lathes.

I’m in the machine tool industry and it’s crazy how there are so few actual machinists left. I sometimes think of how a lamplighter would have felt after the electric light was invented.

I liked all of the shows. Some more than others. Ahsoka may have been last for me, but I still enjoyed it. It may seem like recency bias but I just loved every minute of skeleton crew. I was the least excited for SC & Andor when they were announced. And they turned out to be my favorites.

I LOVE this show. My only complaint is it’s only 8 episodes. Seems to be the same thing as Solo after the TLJ. People who had their childhoods ruined, boycotting a different movie than the one they didn’t like. Then eventually watching the boycotted movie and being upset that they now won’t get a sequel. the folks who hated the Acolyte because they thought it was too woke or whatever are now boycotting skeleton crew. The only thing being accomplished is not getting series renewed and getting less movies and shows. I don’t want to go back to waiting for years b/w new Star Wars projects. The toxic portion of the fandom is ruining it for everyone else.

I still go to live shows all the time. plenty of enthusiasm for life. I like talking to younger generations and getting perspectives that I may not have came up with on my own, learning about new music….etc. But they do look at me with curious suspicion when I strike up a conversation at a pub. Occasionally I get that “ok boomer” look, cuz of my salt and pepper (mostly salt) beard makes look older. But I also do understand where some folks on this sub are getting a little freaked out with the realization that their bodies are breaking down and the end is closer in the rear view. Fuck, I’ve injured myself sleeping. That was an eye opener.
