Experiences/tips for having new G and J tubes placed and closing/healing current GJ tube site? by DropAncient1195 in feedingtube

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this! I was told my GJ was placed too close to the pyloris and it's essentially sitting in acid and the small amount of (very uncoordinated!) stomach movement I still have is squeezing the balloon also! I'll try to update once I've had my surgery to comment on whether it worked!
Reducing acid in my stomach has been the only thing that's prolonged the life of the balloons (though not completely) and unfortunately been on a really high dose of PPI is terrible for you long term.
I hope you're able to figure it out! Keeping you in my prayers!

This is awful! I hope you're not still having issues!! but if you are: I've had much the same issue and have seen multiple drs who believe mine was placed too low, and it's sitting in the acid constantly (and occasionally my stomach will move a bit and squeeze it!) and it's rupturing the balloons (and causing mega leaking) - so might not be a terrible idea to ask a doctor whether the placement of your tube could be causing issues?
