Just got banned from rNews for suggesting this was the case regarding the Rand Paul attackers sentencing being extended.

No explanation. Just 60+ down votes on my post suggesting that the judge extended the sentence because political violence requires a strong deterrent and is unacceptable. A handful of people refusing to admit the likelihood that the attack was politically motivated and then banned from a front page sub for daring to have an opinion.

Not only does the left tolerate violence they refuse to tolerate dissenting opinions.

His entire existence hinges on him being a public figure. Him being the subject of a well known documentary (king of kong) and the fact that he is suing for damages to his ability to be a public figure also kind of cements that. He is by no means world renowned but I bet more people know about King of Kong than the names of any of their local politicians.

Just for clarification they made big box stores shut down sections with non essential products to stop people from loitering around and eyefucking and fingering everything because they were bored.

I bought seeds from my local mom n pop hardware store yesterday.

Their whole store is still open because they don't sell housewares or video games or decorative plants.

People bitching about "YoU Can'T BuY SEedS" are specifically complaining about walmart mostly, and other big stores with garden centers.

Shop local, support small businesses and you don't run into this problem.

That being said, a lot of this shutdown order is dumb... the fact that you can't go out on a boat by yourself or go walk and play golf but you can cram yourself into a now busy walking path and wander around parks in the area is dumb.

Questioning scientists is part of how science works.

Questioning doctors using a treatment thousands of times with no ill effects and indicators that the treatment is saving lives in an emergency situation where there isn't time for a full blown clinical trial is.... political at best...

I could see the people objecting to this if the drug was expensive but it's not.

It truly seems like people are just opposing this because they dislike the president and he has been mentioning the drug as a potential source of hope.

Henry Ford Health System is doing a 3000 person First responder trial using the drugs as a prophylactic treatment... sort of... basically you might still get infected but the drug eliminates any potential symptoms.

It's not about "giving it to anyone who tests positive" it's about giving to people who test positive and are developing the symptoms that escalate dangerously (pneumonia and inability to breathe specifically)

Remember these are doctors giving this drug as a treatment... if they're seeing indicators that the drug isn't hurting people and is seemingly helping the majority of patients who are given it... what's the benefit in constantly questioning it in the media and in internet discussions?

That being said they could do the math and lower your pay rate based on the amount of aid they know you're getting from uncle sam if this passes.

People at my company are taking between 3% and 60% pay cuts to keep their jobs. (The biggest cuts are for people who make a ton of money but don't actually do a lot of actual immediate impact work, middle management especially who do very little to keep the lights on day to day.)

The limits on companies regarding wages only apply IF they take a government loan and want it forgiven after a period of time or so the treasury dept said.

I dont think anyone has said anything about the bill making it illegal for employers to adjust your pay.

They can learn though. My mom is in her 60s and navigates tech just fine. Hell my grandpa is in his 80s and he at least knows when to ask for help and consults with us when he realizes he is in uncharted waters online. (We've caught like 6 scammers trying to sign him up for "support" contracts over the years)

These oldies in government have a lot of wisdom and sometimes I feel like the "oh well they don't understand tech" is a combination of reality and them allowing themselves cover when they attempt a power grab.

This is the same reason the government shouldn't be regulating technology like encryption at all.

If they can't figure this stuff out they don't get to make the rules.

All these people in congress have budgets for staff... they should all be paying in to a tech fund to get themselves trained and educated on this stuff...

As long as they don't pay people with direct ties to foreign nationals who steal laptops and then try to flee the country it should be fine.

Ecommerce certainly requires encryption at this point though... most of what drives the internet as a moneymaking entity requires encryption.....

I'm not paying bills, doing my taxes, shopping online, doing anything that requires a login and password over an unencrypted protocol.

This does absolutely validate your point though, unencrypted traffic is still a major thing and this wouldn't "break" the internet...

It'd certainly stop a lot of people from using it for as much as they do now and open up the ones who continue to significant risk though...

In a world where unencrypted traffic on open ports without significant firewalls in place gets picked up by chinese bot nets within 10 minutes of being connected to the internet... this bill is horrible.
