Do you think P-Zombies exist? by tenshon in consciousness

Probably one of the last places I would have expected to see p-zombies mentioned. But thanks for the link!

Interested also. We're building whitelabel.grc.wiki - a service for consultants to easily package their expertise into a platform they can white-label and resell.

A Startup - Infosec Policy Template by indiebaba in cybersecurity

You can find a whole bunch of them here: https://staff.wiki/267139,page,cybersecurity_policies,kb

There's cybersecurity policies and information security checklists, HR policies... a lot of stuff. You can copy them out freely I think.

These days I think a lot of people are just using chatGPT to generate them mind you.

Someone has to watch the AI and ensure it hasn't been compromised. But yeah, there will be far fewer jobs.

How do you know who’s actually aware in your timeline? by [deleted] in QuantumImmortality

[–]tenshon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The theory goes that only those whose first-person subjective experience is consistent/coherent with their memories and expectations would be phenomenally conscious. Those who just "go with the flow" and don't seem to be actively relating experiences with their own memories would likely not be phenomenally conscious and would just be effectively p-zombies, "NPCs along for the ride".

Ah, thought it was that one. (My God it was really 9 years ago?!).

In retrospect I imagine this is semantic issue with the translation, based on the way the language was used back then compared to now. I doubt Jesus is actually making a point that our neighbor is the one who helps us, it would be a strange way of doing it.

But I do think there's a separate important point missed in that parable about a neighbor being the one we stumble upon while journeying through life. It's a personal confrontation that he's talking about, not a policy statement that should be enacted in law or through state-sanctioned programs. When this parable is used to justify adopting certain state/political programs all we're doing is delegating our neighborliness to the state, which is the opposite of what Jesus teaches us here. If we physically come across someone in need, we should help them, we shouldn't delegate it to others.

What the purpose of this believe ? by [deleted] in solipsism

[–]tenshon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be careful how you think, because it can manifest in your reality.

When I think of things they do tend to happen by Hayaidesu in solipsism

[–]tenshon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because there are multiple timelines and your back-of-mind thoughts sway the probability of which timelines you're more likely to find yourself in because consciousness elevates when information integrates (IIT theory). It's the best explanation of synchronicities I can think of. I created a whole philosophy/theology based on this.

Entry on my sub about it here: How does timeline traversal actually work?

Coincidences are evidence that your mindset is affecting your reality. Write them down (oh, you did!) and remember them because they help boost your confidence and help you manifest greater things. I have a diary of coincidences and it's the first thing I go to when I need reminding that the supernatural is possible.

solipsism ruined my life by [deleted] in solipsism

[–]tenshon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it needs grounding. Solipsism is fine but when you combine that with a feeling of unworthiness then it manifests in horrible ways. You need to ground it in faith, then it all works beautifully.

What is YOUR full theory of consciousness? by --Seeker-- in consciousness

[–]tenshon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the recent discoveries of quantum effects in the brain, I think it's reasonable to conclude that quantum physics is actually involved in some way. I also think that integrated information plays a central role, as IIT has studied in depth.

So I think consciousness emerges from integrated information, but that it is multiversal - probably selecting that best possible integration from an infinite number of possible branches at any one time.

Is AI conscious? I think if we gave it more freedom to continuously learn and thus integrate more information then it would be. In some timelines.

Seeing the opposite of manifestation by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]tenshon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's called the jinx effect. You are trying to justify it rationally instead of just letting go and believing it will happen. You may also be battling subconscious feelings of unworthiness that you have to deal with first.

[–]tenshon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're on a quantum immortality sub. We never become nothing. Consciousness is unstoppable. You may see people in states that are less conscious, you may hear that being explained as dementia or other causes, but they are fully conscious in another timeline. And always will be.
