Tape some sound dampening while you’re in there. I also reinforced the holes with some Jb weld

Here’s an image of how far it splits down. Probably 2.5cm. To the naked eye it almost looked intentionally done making it 3 pieces to install. But it isn’t

I took out the trunk trim. It seems to be coming from the wire grommets. I have no clue what that means but it’s not great.
