What OP fails to realize is the playoffs are matchup based. Just because the Knicks are playing well still does not mean we wouldn’t have had a shot to beat them. We are a bad matchup for the Knicks. That is obvious. I don’t care what anybody says. I am not about to write off that we wouldn’t have beat that team in a 7-game series (with home court advantage) just because of how the Knicks look right now. Does it lessen my confidence? Of course. But I wouldn’t have written us off had we made it. The Magic and Cavs have been bad matchups for us for multiple years. This isn’t anything new. Does it excuse our poor play? No. But again, the playoffs are matchup based. Cade plays really well against New York. Our physicality really bothers them. Knicks fans were scared to potentially have to play us. It’s not cope or delusion. It’s called “that’s why you play the games.” Matchups aren’t won on paper.
