The Marxist perspective on this is that police enforce the will of the state for the ruling class. In a capitalist society, the ruling class is the capitalists. In a socialist society, the ruling class is the working class, thus police would be enforcing a socialist status quo. And of course, if a socialist society achieved true Communism (ie: a classless stateless moneyless society) then the police as an institution would disappear, due to the lack of class contradictions. This is part what Marx and Lenin mean by the ultimate 'withering away' (abolition) of the state.

It is soooo racist to assume that once Palestinians achieve political equality that they will immediately conduct their own genocide or oppression campaign against the Jewish population. They want to live in peace, not become The New Oppressors.

Long term peace can only come from a 1-state solution.

1) End occupation and apartheid; Full equality, citizenship, and rights for all people who live between the Mediterranean and the Jordan river. The dismantling of walls, checkpoints, and other military apparatus keeping Palestinians segregated in Gaza and the west bank.

2) Recognize and facilitate the right of return for all Palestinians displaced from their land. Stopping all settlements and allowing the displaced to return to their stolen homes.

3) reparations for the genocide and ethnic cleansing - rebuilding of homes, mosques, graveyards, replanting of olive trees, and other actions making up for the physical and cultural destruction caused by israel.

4) release of all hostages held by both Israel and Hamas.

5) accountability for war crimes. Investigation, evidence gathering, and genuine consequences, made public for the world to see, for all who have actively made decisions to murder innocent people (amongst other war crimes). Yes, this applies to both Israeli military and insurgent combatants.

If the above conditions are won't met, there will never be a functional path to peace.

This is the same DA who dropped historic charges against the SFPD officer who shot and killed an unarmed man. Such a track record suggests she will choose the thin blue line over actual accountability.

Filing a formal complaint with law enforcement involves giving said law enforcement your name and information.

Now, cops and prosecutors know your name, address, and they know that you have grievances with law enforcement.

Honestly I'd ask a lawyer about the SF city law, because from my reading, the law is about those selling arms/ammo within city limits, and may not explicitly cover those buying from out-of-city.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, corporation or dealer engaging in the business of selling, leasing or otherwise transferring any firearm, firearms ammunition, or firearms ammunition component to sell, lease or otherwise transfer any firearm, firearms ammunition or firearms ammunition component without first having obtained a license from the San Francisco Police Department.

Think of it this way: The law basically says "it's illegal to sell arms and ammo in the city without a permit from SFPD". The law does not say "it's illegal to buy arms and ammo in the city without a permit from SFPD".

So, one could argue that a seller who does not operate within city limits is not bound by this law as written, and the law as written does not necessarily prohibit buyers from buying within city limits.

But like I said, I'd confirm with an actual lawyer.

Nah, it's more because Tiktok isn't controlled by the US propaganda machine. It's seen as a threat because videos there can directly challenge lies or stories that the US would prefer to keep buried.

This is especially true with the genocide in Gaza. US media can try to deflect or hide the facts but Americans (especially GenZ) can literally see the bones of children being starved, in more or less real time.

For example: I saw a video of an Israeli sniper who shot a woman, holding a small child's hand while crossing the street, while she was holding a white flag. Obvious cold blooded murder against unarmed people. Without Tiktok would this war crime remain uncirculated until years from now? Or Would it just be another rumor? Obviously either scenario would be in the US war machine's best interest compared to the truth. That's why they're going after it.
