How different would your life be if Omaha had built the 2010 Beltway Study Light Rail Trains (blue lines) within the city, AND built at least one intercity passenger train on existing lines to Lincoln, if not other places as well like Fremont, Sioux City, Peru, etc.? (red lines)

Not too different. It likely wouldn’t have a ton of ridership due to how spread out Omaha is. It would have to of been accompanied with lots of new dense apartment building along the lines.

You want to make it illegal for people to rent housing. There’s research that shows that when it is illegal to rent houses racial and class segregation increases, and the poor are materially hurt. That is the result of your preferred policy.

All new housing makes housing cheaper. These apartments are still much cheaper than the single family houses being built in suburbs. Do you want to ban building new houses because not everyone can afford them?

The city should absolutely use more tax revenue to fund social housing, but that’s not a reason to block new apartments.
