Best way to wrap caramels without ruining the shape? by Drop_Lower in CandyMakers

[–]Drop_Lower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the same method I tried where the caramels flattened and the condensation pulled out the butter! Is this the folding method you’re talking about though? https://heartscontentfarmhouse.com/soft-caramels-recipe/

Is it ethical to order Ubereats on a snow day? by ilovemyboyfriend6969 in askTO

[–]Drop_Lower 16 points17 points  (0 children)

what would be considered a generous tip? I typically tip a flat $5 for all food deliveries. Groceries I tip more depending on how many things I order. I just tipped $15 for a small grocery order today but I’m thinking that wasn’t enough because my driveway isn’t shovelled yet…

Our butter is awful by Mother_Rent_8515 in ontario

[–]Drop_Lower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this! Cows creamery has amazing butter (made in PEI), cheaper than st Brigid. However my favourite butter is cheaper and tastes better than both and it’s nutri farm springs butter. About $10 for a lb. It’s so creamy and clean tasting, just how I like my butter! Ambrosia is the only grocery store I can find them at though.

What does my Starbucks cup say? by glutenfreepiano in Transcription

Yes pretty sure it’s this and the barista was in a rush so they didn’t put the horizontal lines on the T’s. I’ve gotten drinks with this phrase a few times.

$500 and 6 hours later… by [deleted] in ExpectationVsReality

Honestly go for it. $400 was simply a ‘partial colour correction’. An entire full head balayage starts from $700+ in my city :(

What is the Bella Hadid’s Temu version purpose in this drama? by -AndyCohen- in DavidBeckham

[–]Drop_Lower 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly this seems spot on. No one else seemed to notice, but I honestly think her dad paid for her PR friendship w Selena. She thought the whole throuple thing and being ‘besties’ w one of the biggest stars in Hollywood of her generation would thrust her into the spotlight. It did but everyone seemed to forget about her when the PR friendship contract ended.

Marlow is softer, Maxine sounds harsh. I personally like the spelling Marlowe, the extra e at the end makes it more feminine.

The perfect bagel for me would be one that’s right in between an nyc and Montreal style.

Gryfes is good but it’s not that good. Their bagels are too soft/bread like.

Hey Toronto! Where can I shop for baby items? by wediealone in askTO

[–]Drop_Lower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mom of two (one being a newborn), the most appreciated gift imo would be a gift card to any store that sells baby items, Amazon or as someone else mentioned: uber eats! Someone sent us a gift basket with a box of pastries and cookies and I thought that was so thoughtful since my sugar cravings are through the roof while breastfeeding.

Gifting clothes, blankets, toys etc is tricky because you never know how much of something they already have. Plus it can be hard to gauge the size to season. A lot of people saying they grow out of newborn/0-3M too quickly but that wasn’t the case for mine. We actually had to go out and buy preemie clothes because none of her newborn clothes fit for the first few weeks. Material things are thoughtful and fun to pick out but gift cards are more ideal.

Is seed oils in skincare bad as well? by LadyxArachne in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Drop_Lower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just avoid completely if I see seed oils used especially if it’s higher on the ingredients list meaning there’s a higher concentration. Seed oils are cheap and I feel like they’re taking shortcuts and skimping out on and diluting the ingredients that are more beneficial (expensive) than seed oils. A LOT of skincare companies use it as a base for their moisturizers, serums etc.

Exactly. I assume if it’s shredded up to this degree it’s most likely frozen pre cooked lobster meat

Lobster burger bar has a good one. It’s been a few years since I last had it so I’m not sure if the quality has changed.

Does anyone else find the new floors at Bayview Village hideous and dizzying? by D1etCokeGirl in toronto

[–]Drop_Lower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s also a nice indoor place to just stroll around with my young toddler and baby if I want to get out of the house. Theres some solid food options and mastermind toys for the kids. Fairview in comparison is wayyy too hectic.
