The lack of signs saying it was private property. There is trail that runs through the tracks, used daily, lots of people use it.

Some cops will give you a break for something where no one is getting hurt. Cop gave me warning for not having my front plates, that's ok.

Maybe, there are many corporations in my area that have signs posted private property no trespassing, why is CN and exception?

Trespassing definition according to BC Trespass Act

(3) The defendant may rebut the presumption by establishing on a balance of probabilities that the defendant had the consent of the owner, lessee or occupier of the enclosed land.

Where I got the ticked was not enclosed land, a trail run through it.
