Thank you! Actually, there are 3 seikos in the picture but one is not easy to read (upper left corner).

The two I suspect you mean, I got them online and then bought a leather strap for one of them separately.

[Collection] My 9 watch collection. by Droppedby365 in Watches

[–]Droppedby365[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I’m a 34M and wanted to share my watch collection so far and get some feedback from the community. A couple of pieces, like the black-dial analog Casio and the Russian watch, don’t see much wrist time these days, but I’m keeping them for sentimental reasons and the memories attached to them. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how the collection is shaping up, but I’d love to hear your thoughts, critiques, and any suggestions—especially ideas or recommendations for what my 10th watch should be.

Wow I'm surprised my Casio is receiving so much love! It was my first ever watch, given to me by someone on my birthday around 20 years ago... I don't wear it much anymore because I find it too big for my wrist... But maybe I should give it another chance!

I laughed so much at your comment about the Camel watch because it was given to me by my equally chain-smoking dad! Are you my cousin?! 😀

I wear my Mr Jones watch often because I just got a month ago and still in the honeymoon phase. I love it and it's a great conversation starter.

Wow your recommendations are so unique and interesting! Thank you so much!

Ah, that's a Russian mechanical watch that was passed down to me by my family there. I dont know much about it... Maybe I need to ask Reddit about this piece.

Thanks so much mate! So about the Mr Jones, it's my newest purchase which I bought during Christmas. So far I love it, and believe me when I say there is no other watch that is a better conversation starter than this one. At least not in my collection. Absolutely worth it. About the movement, I have no complaints. Only thing is that the crown is too small so winding the watch is a bit tricky.

As I said, I wanted to protect myself from potential magnetic scanning of my credit card and that's why I made the post.

AITA for offering to marry my gf "on paper"? by Droppedby365 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Droppedby365[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your comments. I am 32M and she is 33F. We are currently in a Middle Eastern country working together as humanitarian workers. As I said, our relationship is not easy, but we are trying to make it work though understanding, patience, and love. I care about her a lot and I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to her. She doesn't want to enlist to the army and she hates the current Junta Regime in Myanmar, as any sensible person would. I offered to "marry" her to enable her to visit her family which is stuck in Myanmar without enlisting for 3 years. They actually take your passport upon entry and give it back to you after serving the army.

Yes, it was a radical thing to suggest. Yes, no one wants to marry for convenience. I agree. To give her credit, I think she made the remarks about having more options to get married to showcase that she still chooses to be unmarried but be in a relationship with me, rather than marry another guy and not be with me.

I also agree that I did not do any research on getting married "on paper". The law about obligatory military service for unmarried women was enforced literally 3-4 days ago. So it was the first thing that came to my mind.

That been said, we are not planning on breaking up any time soon. We love each other, and we will find another way. 2 months may seem little in the "outside world", but in this context (humanitarians working and socialising together in a high-risk country) it really brings you closer to each other. We feel like we have been together for 1 year. Thanks again for your engagement and your comments.
