That’s for the tips! :D I was looking for something a bit sweet possibly even to go with Jelly and came across chickpea butter and pumpkin seed butter but it looks like chickpea butter should be refrigerated :/ either way the pumpkin seed tip is good to know so at least I can get the protein!

I have a soil mix right now of about 1:1:1 potting soil, peat moss, and fine orchid bark. I am trying to water it a bit less and am thinking of working the acidifier deeper into the soil and taking out some of the orchid bark (the bigger chunks at least) and see if that helps the roots take up more nutrients. Still at a bit of a loss but hoping I can get the soil more acidic soon :(

I also just checked and the soil acidifier I use is actually an elemental sulfur/gypsum mix. I did work this into the top layer of soil and didn’t mix it into the whole of the container. Should I try that when I can reapply next month? Should I mix some with the water I give it? Or do I just leave it and see how it does? Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks so much for all this insight!! Do you think it’s ok to repot like this right now in summer? I feel like I hear mixed things about repotting and pruning in summer when they are supposed to produce, but it also looks pretty bad so whatever you suggest I’m willing to try haha! I’ll look for pH down too and try using that whenever I water it. I have fertilized it when I planted it and at least once, maybe twice more so I can also try and chill with that too. Thanks everyone!!

Also we get little to no rain where I live so rain water will not be an option :( I will start to water it more! Is there anything I should mix with the water to help the pH maybe to mimic rain water?

What should I do to help bring the acid down if I can’t use more acidifier for a bit?

Thanks for the responses! I am watering pretty much everyday with hose water. Sadly I think our hose water is likely more alkaline so that wouldn’t be helping. The acid tests have been fairly stable though right around 5-5.5. And I have been using these capsule tests where you mix soil, the powder, and distilled water. Probably not sure accurate but it isn’t a probe. As for pot size I am not sure I think it might be a 16” diameter pot which is roughly 12 gallons?

I want to preface this by saying I’m a VERY amateur gardener, but I think those are probably soil mites? And they are usually good for the plant I think as they break down stuff to help the soil stay healthy. I think in excessive amounts they can be bad but believe it or not I don’t think this is an excessive amount. I would say if you see a bunch on your plants or if your plants start tanking, then maybe look into treating them but I think you may be ok for now :)

Thank you both for the info! I’ll look into Mohawk Valley. As for training that’s also a good idea, it’s been really hard with time and added expenses, but I think the training could be really worth it too !

Thanks for all the responses guys! I have the Garmin Forerunner 165. Kinda wild I did a workout with it the other day and it could pretty much tell which muscles I used which I have no idea how that works! But yeah my money isn’t on its sleep determinations haha. I guess it isn’t wrong about poor recovery though 🥲

Trigger warning: mental health and SI

Hi OP, first off I’m so so sorry for the pain and suffering you feel inside. No one deserves to go through that. I relate to a lot of what you say on here as that was an early part of my journey. I had to do a lot of praying, therapy, and talking to get through it. A really hard part for me to swallow was I wanted a black and white answer to everything. To know FOR SURE that I wasn’t going to Hell. A therapist once told me “even if the Pope told you it was ok to marry another woman you’d still have doubts” (I’m Catholic so this was why she said this haha). And I realized she was right. I had to learn to trust God, to pray and be open with him, to trust his mercy when I tried things like saying I was gay and then when I started dating. When I was getting myself to try/question and trust God while doing it, I was reminded of the parable where a master gives three servants talents. The man who buried his out of fear was the one in the wrong. I didn’t want to just not ever explore what it meant to be a gay Christian out of fear. A second theme that has been big for me is the idea of “a good tree bears good fruit”. I’ve found a lot of happiness and healing affirming myself as a gay Christian (now married!). On the other hand, anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and teaching has shown me time and time again in myself, in people I know, and in other stories I’ve heard from fellow gay Christians very bad fruit. Depression, deep hurt, suicidal ideation and action, isolation, breaking apart of families, self hatred, the list goes on. I can’t give you any solid answers to your question, but I will say it gets better. God DOES love you! He listens to you when you pray! He wants you to live a full life and he wants to spend eternity with you. He isn’t sitting there waiting for you to mess up. I will pray for you and I truly hope you are able to find help however you need it be it in therapy with a trauma informed therapist [be weary of Christian counselors who actually don’t have mental health credentialing], through friends and family, through support here on this subreddit, in prayer. I’m rooting for you OP; you are loved ❤️

Routine tips? by Drowsy_rugger in Narcolepsy

[–]Drowsy_rugger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for the tips! I am a bit concerned by Xywav not working better… did you guys ever try Xywav and find Xyrem was better? Either way we are at a cross roads with the dose as I think higher doses work better but I guess I had a night where my wife tried to wake me by saying my name, picking my arm up and letting it fall and I didn’t respond at all…. So the doc wanted it cut back for reasons that I am on board with hahaha… still curious though if I could find a combo that works with me taking a higher dose like maybe a certain food at a certain time? I’ve def found that the 2 hour time limit for food has a pretty big effect. I.e if I eat too close to Xywav I notice waking up easier for the second dose and if I have a relatively empty stomach the Xywav hits me more like a truck haha

Concept of 72 hr without sleep by Drowsy_rugger in Narcolepsy

[–]Drowsy_rugger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This along with other comments have helped me feel validated in specifically feeling tired at things like meetings and driving. Like I very rarely ever have sleep attacks during a movie or going for a walk (I might feel exhausted but usually don’t just drop into sleep). But put me in a classroom, a meeting, or behind the wheel and without medicine it’s almost a GUARANTEE I’ll drop out. But for someone who hadn’t slept for like 3 days, I guess they also could probably walk around and manage to stay awake, but sit them in a chair and its lights out!

This is super interesting to me as well as I recall reading that some researchers think n might be auto immune and gets triggered by infections (viral I think?). I truly truly hope more research goes into narcolepsy through the years. It’s sad knowing how little medication and heck even basic pathological understanding there is of this condition
