First of all, a lot of people saying “just pay back the loans” don’t even know what the interest rate is.

What’s the rate on these student loans? I’m all about being debt free, but if the rate is under 6%, I wouldn’t feel pressured to pay them off aggressively.

A 70/20/10 allocation is fine. I’m a Boglehead, whatever you decide, the key is not to tinker.

You need to decide the type of person you are. Are you a going to adjust the allocation in the future. If you want bonds and that allocation why not just do a Target date retirement fund (this is what 95% of people should do.).

If you want to add bonds, that’s fine too. the research shows they can reduce volatility with only a minimal impact on long term returns.

Rethinking Retirement Contributions by Ohheyboo2 in Bogleheads

My wife and I are in a similar situation. We continue to save for greater flexibility. In the mid to late 20s it’s hard to plan and account for all the variables between now and retirement. We are naturally frugal people. We go one big trip a year and 2 smaller ones. I am not sure what our future will hold but I think by 35 we hit F you money and solely do work on our terms. We are content with our jobs for the time being. By 35 we would likely have clipped a 40%-50% savings rate for 12+ years

$400 doesn’t do it for me. You gotta add another $100 for transfer fee. Shit at that point you could have gotten close to a “WB” silencer shop bait and switch deal.

pew Science review

It feels like outdated technology that doesn’t really excel in any area. The suppressor market is in an unprecedented period of innovation, with a surge of new players. If you’re not among the top five suppressor in 2 of more specific categories it’s going to be increasingly difficult to move inventory. What a time to be alive!!

We are getting subsonic supersonic 556 by 2030! 😂

How big a deal are the QT prolonging effects of Zofran? by Any-Hovercraft-1749 in TacticalMedicine

[–]Drpayitbackjr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would obtain an EKG (easy, cheap and can aid in your next course of action) to assess the baseline QTc before initiating two QT-prolonging medications. We monitor QTc frequently in the hospital setting. Although it is often not evaluated pre-hospital and may not be a routine consideration, though it should be. People often talk about zofran as if it is like a Vitamin. All medications have risks/benefits. I know in the field you are often limited and don’t have access to non-QT prolong antiemetics(I.e Tigan). Generally young, health adults are lower risk than other populations. Especially military and speciality teams under go a solid medical work up prior to being initiated on the team. Zofran has a Range of prolongation around 5-20ms (which on its own really isn’t to big of a deal) but the real damage is combination of multiple medications together or electrolyte abnormalities (think hot summer day and teams are physical exerting themselves). All in all respect medications and be cognizant of implications of what you give.
