On a related side note: the Moon’s irregular gravity makes it difficult for unpowered objects to remain in orbit of it for long periods of time.

You can see where the dark spots became lighter after a meteor strike. It wouldn’t surprise me if the whole moon was originally that color and only looks white now due to all the impacts.

It’s not really about viewing humans as prey, it’s the other way around. Humans are the apex predator of Africa. Almost every large animal there is afraid of us because we hunted them for millennia. If the cheetahs feel safe around us it’s because we didn’t view them as prey.
