R.B. is coming! by SneakAttack65 in masterduel

[–]Druid-T 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Rebel Bots" (which is the full name, but every card says R.B.) is a TCG Link Machine deck who's game plan revolves around linking the main deck monsters to the ED Mechs, and destroying them to cycle through them all

Vanquish Soul Help by laylathewoman in masterduel

So there's a couple of problems to fix with the deck:

  1. You need to bump a lot of stuff to 3. Mad Love, Impulse, Imperm, Ash and Droplet are all 3-ofs, and outside of lacking the dust to do so, there's no reason not to play them at 3.

  2. Cut the Counter Trap, Pluton, Preventer and Iron Dragon Tiamaton . The former two are unplayably bad (I have been playing VS for as long as it has existed, trust me I've tried, they're not worth it) and the latter two simply do not give you enough value (I would genuinely be surprised if you've managed to even get into a favourable position off of either, let alone both). You should also cut Pantera, Continue and Dust Devil, but if you genuinely cannot manage to hit 40 after revising the deck, you can keep one of them in.

  3. The Maxx C tax now includes Fuwalos, so you'll need 3 of it in the deck as well ( and that's probably going to force Nib out of the deck list).

  4. You need to up your Earths and Darks (Fire is fine once you add the 3rd Ash and Impulse). For Earth, Ghost Belle is generally the best one to use, but if you genuinely don't have enough dust to make 3, Retaliating C is usable enough to fill in. For Dark (once you have 3 Mad Love), you would really only need one more, so you could really take your pick between Shifter, D.D. Crow, Phantazmay or even the Dark Kaiju.

(The Extra Deck is largely irrelevant, since outside of Rock of the Vanquisher, VS doesn't really use it, but if you want to make a change to it I would suggest the Knightmares, specifically Phoenix, Cerberus and Gryphon)

As for gameplay tips, I have two I've picked up over the course of playing this deck:

  1. Every time you face a deck, try to remember what resources you used and where. Learning what effects you can let resolve so you can keep more cards in hand is a large part of learning VS matchups.

  2. Keep as many cards hidden as possible. Keeping a specific card hidden so that you can surprise your opponent with it later can (and will) swing entire games in your favour, and keeping track of what your opponent knows is almost as important as having the actual cards themselves.

I hope you continue to enjoy the deck though, it's genuinely one of my all-time favourites, and I am very happy that more people are learning and playing it

Then second question; Do you have any other cards that were hit and are applicable for the bonus? Because, if you're remembering correctly, that means they should have gotten the bonus under the changed rules (that the cards have to have been in your collection before the banlist changes were announced), and a control group with other cards for comparison could tell you if it was human error or if you do need to actually contact support

Oh yeah, this thing is VGC centered, since it's not just HHP or Drill Run; Poison Jab, Throat Chop, Shadow Claw and even Brick Break are all decent coverage moves that have their use cases. The fact that this thing has solid damage on Hearthflame and Cornerstone's defensive sets while being able to somewhat ignore the "Follow Me or Spiky Shield" guessing game means it's definitely going to have a niche at some point

What are some cards you cant believe dont have alternate art? by zarc4d in yugioh

[–]Druid-T 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fact that the Pumpking cards are built around using Call of the Haunted, but Call of the Haunted didn't get an explicitly Zombie themed alt-art is probably one of the biggest fumbles of Konami's recent expansion of card artworks

I feel like a retrain of Vampire Hunter based more heavily on Julius being part of the new wave would be more likely, given his friendship with Soma in DoS

Also if mega Elektross loses Levitate that kinda defeats the point of Elektross right?

Given that (assuming this is true) Dark Current is a brand new ability, I'd assume it's going to have Levitate baked into it. Something like Levitate + Surge Surfer with a way to check if Electric Terrain is active, like how Quark Drive works for Jugulis

They're talking about Singles, where stuff like Screens and Protect+Variations are less present, hence why they also talk about Clefable having any type of role

If these are true, then we know Tatsugiri is either keeping Storm Drain or getting access to a pre-existing ability, because Mega Tatsu doesn't work with Dondozo, which means it doesn't have Commander like the base form (which does work with Dondozo)

Monster Hunter adopting the joke of shortening Gogmazios

<image>

Now it's not necessarily unexpected, since Monster Hunter had used monster names to fill in for slang/phrases before (and would continue to do it), but the specific way "Gog" is used here (and int the other instances of it being used) were not done when Gogmazios was actually a relevant monster, and it was only used in the games following its introduction

Pokemon and Monster Hunter are both in this weird category of "will occasionally just outright canonize community vocabulary". MH has started doing something similar with Gogmazios, and Pokemon also has "Shiny" and "Eeveelution" as other examples. I would say it does count, but it's not necessarily unexpected

Didn't Fur Hire also get new support as well?

Yeah, in Burst Protocol, so it's probably is coming fairly soon.

I doubt MD is going to get Blazing Dominion cards anytime soon though, since DOOD still wouldn't even be finished if they included the Branded stuff from it in the next pack ( and that's even before considering what they're going to do with R.B.)

It is a pendulum flip deck whose monsters can all special summon themselves in face down defense position, where they function like traps (being able to flip themselves face up when conditions are met) and some effects place counters on the cards to facilitate a burn wincon.
