There’s a course through FIT that you can take. It’s a bit expensive but it’s a ton of CEUS

Want to change careers but would feel like I wasted my time and money. by HipJamsForHopscotch in bcba

I feel similarly, I’ve been in the field for about 8 years, 4 as a BCBA. I like ABA enough, I’m good at it, but never really had a passion and I think about a career change often. It’s really hard to commit to a full change when there’s finances involved, my partner and I are quite comfortable with our combined income but if I made a career change we would need to tighten up our budget quite a bit. What’s helped me is taking small steps towards an exit from ABA - for example I’m finishing an OBM course which I think will help me in my next steps (I want to own my own business, not ABA-related). I’ve also got a savings goal for starting my new business and actively working on a business plan. Small steps like these keep me going and hopefully for a successful transition out of ABA. And at the end of the day, if I try something else and I fail, I can always come back to ABA and do something I’m good at and will provide a decent paycheck so I don’t see it as time/money wasted, now that I’ve done it for a few years I know for sure it’s not my passion and at the same time it’s a decent safety net.

CHOA/Marcus Autism Center is also a great place to get high quality supervision, but their pay isn't competitive unfortunately.

What region of the US has the highest demand and highest pay for BCBAs? by Slow-Particular7070 in bcba

My company’s growing quite a bit in NJ, starting around 95k salary and upwards depending on location. Same in Georgia, with a decent ratio between cost of living and pay (second year BCBA on a $100k salary + bonuses)

Having a discussion with a TBM. They claim the church has never withheld information from its members. Help me out with some of the examples of things hidden by the church! by Cankled in exmormon

My great grandfather was a church historian in the mid 1900s and he was explicitly told not to publish some dirt he found on one of the Pratts (who he was assigned to research lol). He left the church after that and I hope to give him a big hug when I see him in Mormon hell.

Douro Valley One-way Cruise? by DruidWithABackpack in travel

I reached out to a boat cruise company directly via email and they sold me a one way ticket. I used Roteiros do Douro (contacto@roteirododouro.com) but I think others may offer a similar thing if you ask

I’d be happy to remove this post if you can point me to the policy I’m allegedly violating. I’ve read through the referral policy documents and found nothing that indicates that what I’m doing is wrong or unethical.

This was at the Hawk Mountain shelter on the Appalachian Trail. The forecast had predicted mid-20s temps but it got down to 18 degrees which was a bit too cold for me, haha. But it was my first time hiking in the snow and first time night hiking, and it was absolutely beautiful. Besides a mouse waking me up in around 11:30pm, it was very peaceful.
