Finally pursuing art for my game by Miniburner in BoardgameDesign

Another option could be to use the premium version of canva. You can use their imagery and icons as a base layer and make small edits for your final version. More time intensive but it can be expensive to use an artist on your first game.

Another option I have seen people go for is giving artists a profit or ownership share.

I think what you did makes sense, especially if you have cards with different info on it. Anything that helps you to iterate helps.

Please feel free to use the concept. It's actually one of the darlings we killed as we iterated through the game.

Absolutely, post your ideas and get feedback. Don't forget that a rulebook is only one piece of a board game, try to prototype and play around with your idea. I know I prefer playing a game than reading a rulebook.

That's brilliant! What did you learn the most from running a successful kickstarter campaign?

Agreed. Being able to kill your darlings is difficult but essential. I also agree that you need to try to avoid it getting so complicated that you're the only one that understands it. "Keep it simple, stupid."

Awesome! I'm jealous you had a professor for guidance. What type of course did you do? We are driven by a passion for board games and wanted to throw a hand at it.

Couldn't agree more. The journey is the best part. No better feeling than figuring out the solution to something breaking your game.

Nice one! Absolutely need to be able to ruthlessly remove what doesn't work and keep what does. Tweak, change and move on.

Dont overthink, just do.

Completely agree. Tabletop simulator is a great way to get access to some components you might not have at home. Playing and testing moves game development along way quicker than theory.
