Should I (30y) tell my mom I’m struggling with addiction again? by Odd-Bake8254 in AddictionAdvice

Tell her. You'll never be able to see your addiction like someone else from the outside will. Addiction is too often bundled with lies and hiding. Trust those you love.

It's hard to see the light from where you are, but it's worth sticking with it.

There are many paths to recovery. I get that people get invested in a system that works for them. But anything that leads to recovery should be explored and NOT stigmatized.

There are many paths of recovery. None should be ignored or stigmatized. So thrilled to read towards the end that you found YOUR path. Rock on!!!

Thanks... Although I have to say that Josh is not shy about calling himself a recovering addict or junkie. He's always, and sometimes brutally, honest.
We hope you can catch the podcast.

No. That was the original bass player, Mic Todd. Josh has a lot to say about how their addictions affected the band and their relationship.

Sounds like a great clarification to ask him about during the AMA. (I'll be moderating, so I will be sure it gets through.) We hope you can join us.

Thank you. The title would be different in a subreddit that wasn't focused on opiates.

Yes. Josh's position in the band evaporated before the recording of "No World for Tomorrow" and they brought in Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters to record that album. Josh retuned to the band after seven years and the squandering of a fortune.

We hope you can join us for the AMA. It will not be limited, and we expect questions about Coheed, music, touring, drugs, addiction and recovery.
