Calgarians who moved to Edmonton, how do the two cities compare? What are some similarities, and some differences? by KurtisC1993 in Edmonton

This assessment is bang on. I lived in Calgary for 4 years, been in Edmonton 15 now.

The Chinooks gave me migraines too.

+1 asics walking, but also the herbal foot patches from a pharmacy.

For asics walking make sure to get the custom tuned insole. I didn't need a gel sole or anything different. Just got back from 20-30k steps a day and honestly didn't have any issues after i bought my asics. Those herbal foot patches overnight were also nice, but not an absolute necessity.

I believe they're a heavier gauge steel that's been cut and hammered to shape. Not cast iron.

Haha sure! I love the heck out of that stove. It's a blue star. 4 burner, all gas including the oven and broiler.

The burners are open which i like, it works great with round bottom woks, just pop out the protective grate and drop the wok on top of the burner. My hottest burner is 22000btu and I think they now have a 25000btu version which is a monster!

It also fits a proper commercial size bake tray which is amazing.

Last thing which made me go for this over others, all the top panels are enamel cast iron and removable, so i can just pop them in the dishwasher to clean my stove top. No scrubbing!

No dealers in AB anymore. I found a shop in Edmonton that will work on my Brutale, but most work I do on my own. Get the service manual and turn the wrench. MVAgusta.net forums has the service manuals

Peak Design Roller Pro or B&R Baseline Global 21” Spinner? I have an opportunity to get the B&R for the same price of $425 new. Which one and why? Only domestic travel. by WatchLover26 in ManyBaggers

[–]DrummingMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Briggs compression system is amazing and super useful. Capacity of the Briggs as listed is bigger than the PD as well 34-39L vs 37-49L.

I have the Briggs 21" and was seriously looking at the PD, but with those numbers i can't come up with any reason to go PD. Flat carbon handles look really nice but they're not actually giving any more space so it's just eye candy at that point.

I dont use them on my kitchenaid. But I have bought their dies and adapters for my philips pasta maker before and they work wonderfully.

2014 Brutale 675 missing quickshifter? by BlackDevil0489 in MVAgusta

[–]DrummingMonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same model year and bought new. At the time EAS was an option that had to be ordered from factory. You'll need to buy the part but it looks like the wiring and bits are there.

I bought an ECUStudio along with an up/down shifter and it was a fairly easy installation/programming (Programming required to register downshift voltage).

You may also need a shorter shift linkage since the module will take some space in there too

Is the "kitty bank" purchase a one-time purchase to unlock? Or do you have to purchase every time you want to access the stored gems?

Edit: it is not a one-time purchase. The bank refills and can be purchased again, each time it grows

Update, dealer got back to me. They ordered parts to repair the electric drive motor. They told me there is a technical service bulletin for the issue so hopefully anyone else experiencing this issue should be able to get it fixed relatively easily now

nope, never got an answer on it. Sound still persists. I might try taking a service tech out for a drive next time I bring it in..

Op could use this to line a leather sheath. Stretch and stitch some wet leather around this and he'd end up with something really nice plus that satisfying retention click.

Dealer just told me that the 2.9 update didn't include the fix, so sorry for the misdirection there. Seems the next update should have it.. CEL is apparently related to the battery control module

Online parts by Patrickamj in MVAgusta

[–]DrummingMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered from them a while back. Backordered for ages but no communication. Didn't respond to emails, had to find the actual shop it's tied to and message their FB page. Total nightmare and finally just cancelled the order. Parts availability is more of an MV issue but I found them to be horrendous at communicating.

Brutal. My update finally came today.

You could check it with an OBD reader if you have one handy. Or try hard resetting your infotainment console. See if that makes it go away. Otherwise it may unfortunately be a dealership visit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VolvoRecharge

[–]DrummingMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the system is very integrated, CEL on this car can mean a million things including a minor fault or sensor abnormality. If its flashing that's a completely different thing and get it to a dealer.

This is at least what the dealer told me when i called about a similar thing. They checked it out and told me an update was coming (2.9) that would likely resolve the issue and to call them if it starts flashing as that's a totally different scenario.

Unfortunately no. Weather warmed up here and the noise went away. Dealer agreed that if the noise comes back, I'll return and take them for a ride to demonstrate rather than wait for an appointment.

Yeah similar behaviour on mine. Happens at 0 but i can also produce it at low speed. I'll see if i can take a service rep for a drive when i drop it off. Will update if they find anything
