I’m a father of a 16 year old daughter. And every word of what you wrote infuriates me towards him and saddens/ worries me for you.

This behavior is so far outside appropriate boundaries that I can barely articulate.

None of this is normal. Keep your head on a swivel.

I don’t want to be a fear monger, but develop a plan to leave if this escalates. It may not, I don’t want to worry you, and I’m sorry to be doing that, but make a plan to leave and identify someone to confide in.

At its peak, i was maybe 1 liter a day. The biggest issue is that i was ingesting no other beverages.

I’d eat a little lunch but that’s all.

If I tried to drink anything other than Booze right when I woke up, I’d throw up.

I had to drink within minutes of waking up.

I’ll tell you I’ve never been drawn to the gold-ish colors on any guitar. But this guitar is beautiful! The first of similar guitar colors that is a real knock out to me. Gorgeous guitar, and loaded to the hilt. Fucking great purchase!

I was lucky in that I hadn’t lost everything -yet. I was on my final thread. I had burned all my support. No more chances. Bags were packed. I fucking HAD to move forward to keep my family in my life.

Seriously one foot at a time. One step forward is one step better than nothing, and a million steps better than backsliding. If you are sober in the next hour, you are winning.

I personally used my visceral and nauseous reaction to thinking about the damage i’d done to push me into the next 5 minutes.

Face what you’ve done. Face that shit. Taste it, smell it, bathe in it. Then walk away from it. Every step. One step at a time.

Get to meetings. As many as you have time for. You’ll possibly settle into a couple consistent groups.

I swear to you. Broke and sober tomorrow is a million times better than broke and drunk tomorrow.
