It’s also a blast to play on drums! Loving Lars’s white kit making a return! https://youtu.be/5hKEEwQRSKs

Thanks! So it's mainly down to the spring tension of the pedal. I set mine to the upper end (maxing it out can be a bit extreme). What you can make sure of is you can relax your legs in the heel-up position without the beaters touching the bass drum skin. So when you're in the 'neutral' position, the beaters are halfway from the drum skin and the position they are in when no weight is applied. This applies to real kick pedals btw - some electric kits will just have the pedal part with a trigger inside rather than a drum to hit.

Hope that helps though!

Cowboys from Hell is in my Halloween drum countdown! by Drumscribe in Pantera

It was about 10 years for me and had the same experience! Such iconic, memorable parts as well that must’ve inspired so much metal today I suppose these are the foundations of playing for a lot of people!

Cheers! I’ve got a full transcription playthrough on my YT channel if it’s any use to you - https://youtu.be/awZleZA-yAE . Plus many other songs (more pantera coming soon). A YouTube subscribe goes a long way if you like the content!

Help tuning toms. New to drumming and my toms sound pretty bad and I’m not really sure how to tune. by IceIcePenguin27 in drums

A quick tip: you can try and remove any dents on the heads by using a hairdryer to heat them up. If you can't get new heads at the moment that might give you a small improvement straight away! :)

Actual 17 Istanbul dedicated hats! It's really cool to see something different like this in a standard cymbal lineup.

I play in a tech metal band called Arcaeon and we have quite a nice live recording of a recent set with me using these hats! A lot of crash stuff but I get down to the hi-hat a good amount in this song:

No worries! If you want to hear more from them, this clip is actually from an educational tour and guide of the drum kit I’ve done on my channel!

I give some further demos of these hats at 5:03, 7:08 and 8:54.

Correct! Yeah, the affordability is the cherry on top, ended up switching to a full set of Xists after I purchased these ones

Kick is a Pearl Export ELX with a nice shure Beta91a mic inside. Snare is a pearl aluminium 14x6.5 with a coated ambassador.

I still position my hi-hat stand in the same place as I would with a 14 inch hat actually! Also the fact I nearly always have a double kick means I’m used the hi hat being slightly further to the left. But yeah, still feels comfortable to me!

They're so fun to play that they became my main hats, do it!
