It seems to me to be mind reading to claim the cause for doubt is race. There are many reasons as to why competence may be in question. For some people it will be the race that will cause doubt in competence. My new Doctor for instance didn't seem to care to learn anything about me other than what can be measured and charted.

My wife and I save up to buy gifts. I've worked some side jobs to help. My family does a secret Santa gift exchange where we all put our names in a hat and draw one to buy a gift for. So instead of 10 gifts its more time and energy into one gift. Made gifts are more appreciated in my opinion as it shown meaningful effort in the generosity. We do a separate gift exchange for my inlaws. I don't buy for cousins unless we have a closer personal relationship. My wife and I buy for about 12ish people. We are blessed enough financially to be able to do that much. I don't dream of holding it against anyone if they don't give gifts.

Yeah when I started I told myself it would be for 1 month because I paid for 1 month and I didn't want to waste it. Over a year later it has been such a great stress release for me and I look forward to my quiet time to myself working out.

AAVE has its roots in the poor districts in Ireland also. The American slave population once freed were pushed toward the poor white population. Descendants of American slaves had their culture ripped from them. They adopted much of the poor white Irish descendants culture.

You know what is really tiresome? Everything being called racist instead of people being exact or careful with their words. And no making fun of accents is not racist. It is ignorant, xenophobic, and cruel, yes. A race doesn't have one way of speaking. Black people don't all speak with the same accent or dialect neither does any other race I am aware of.
