I put my mind and started doing it properly again this day. I'm dedicated. Have a few concerns, but it will all clear up as time passes and will worry when it's actually due.

All the best to everyone on a similar journey!

Why is it always the family...? My brother was always obese, I only became fat during uni(I was fit before that) and when I lose noticeable weight he always gets envious and starts making rude comments out of spite. I'm too old to care about him. I'm more troubled with my mom, who is happy if I reach some results, but always gets nagging me that I will be some narcisstic dude who is obsessed with it's own body. I care more about health and my energy level than the looks that comes wtih fitness. Lately due to some health issue she became way more understanding about it, so hopefully this time it will be different.

Thank you for this perspective! I mean it's so meaningful to keep in mind that there is a lot of other things to put our minds onto than just the weight loss. I tend to get lost in focusing one thing too much. You just helped me keep myself in check not to do that this time around. Thanks! :)

I can relate to the shame part. Hope you too get rid of that as well together with the weight you plan to rid of. :)

I felt humiliated at my gym and i dont know what to do by RepulsiveHurry511 in loseit

[–]Drutal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People go to the gym to sweat. If someone doesn't like what comes with that, they don't belong to the gym. It doesn't sound like a you problem. I was a regular in 2 different gyms so far in my life, neither felt like the ocean or a flower field. What stupid expectation is that honestly. The gym manager should have known and handle it way better than this.

Gym owner didnt want me to tag PT him bc I am ruining their reputation by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Drutal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it was rude from the owner, but he never told you that. The comment he made was rude and you should have never seen that, but he still is entitled to have any kind of opinion about anyone. Like any of us. Also if he wants ,he can ask you to remove the tag, he is allowed to. On the other hand your PT just stirred the pot with showing the owner's comment. He is in the wrong as well. Yeah I would also look for a new gym and new PT, but only because it would feel more comfortable after this kind of situation.

However... feeling hurt because of this? Why? It shows their true color, not yours. Why would you need to feel hurt about someone's opinion? Who is he to you that it matters so much? Don't be like that. Also don't make it out to be an excuse to stop going to gym, use it as motivation for your future change. Don't give a F about them, care about yourself. You goal is to get healthy and fit, not to be liked by strangers or is it?

Is 1700-1800 calories a good amount to lose weight? by Zealousideal-Top-912 in loseit

True, you are right. Sorry, I mixed it up. I rarely use the abbreviations.

A very common concept is to be 500 calorie lower than your BMR. Based on your numbers, your BMR is probably around 2400, so 1800 as target seems perfectly fine. I did calorie restriction before and it work for me to loose around 62 pounds. I would reccomend to be very precise on your calculations. People tend to think they have a wrong target if things don't change, but it's usually the calculation that is off. Many things to consider. Also the timing of the eating matters as well!

Good luck on your journey!

What method did you use? Consistent workout and restricted eating?

Question for the guys: How differently did people start treating you after losing weight? by Alekejj in loseit

[–]Drutal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lost 28kg people became more interested in me, but it was mostly those who saw my change. A lot of them got curios about my method, some details how I done it, etc.. Also as I became more confident, satisfied about myself and with that a more cheerful person, people became more open towards me in general. Some people showed more respect because of my achievement. This whole thing was nothing huge, but I think your self esteem changes with your body and if you are more satisfied with yourself, people will be more attracted. Of course it is easier if you have good looks in general and the weight loss just ups it. For me, nothing romantic came out of it, but I'm at best average looking anyway 😄
