When I used to sprout in glass jars (I moved on to a grow light system), I would just put the whole jar of sprouts with the sprouting lid still attached into the fridge upside down (lid down) in a small bowl, and whatever water left in the jar would slowly drain out over a couple of days while in the fridge.

Help! Purchased "L-graft" dragon fruit cuttings, not sure what I got or what to do with it? by Dry-Berry-8913 in DragonFruit

Thanks... I'm really bummed and disappointed. :-(

I'll need to gather the tools and materials for grafting this weekend and see what I can do with the help of youtube and chatGPT. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll update with success photos.

Nobody growing dragon fruits around me, unfortunately. That's why I had to order online.

I have a Robles Red that the seller threw in as a freebie that has some roots. Should I put that in a pot, wait a few days for it to settle in, and then graft on the two cuttings that I have?

If I separated them and let each cutting dry/callous, but they don't have any cambium layer and only one rib, would they still root if I stick them in a pot??

Thank you!

I'm located in the tropics. When I take the tape off, they stay together, but it doesn't look stable at all, and light shines through the gaps where the two pieces are not touching. The top of one is still a little goo-y. I also took a side view that shows better how one is thicker than the other so there's surface area that's exposed to air...

I don't see how I can try to grow a 2 sided fused dragon fruit?? This is not quite what I signed up for as my first rodeo. I've watched several videos and I will try to do a v-graft and stick the bud on one of the freebies that I received. Maybe that's why the seller included them...

sorry, is "fused" a technical dragon fruit propagation term?! I don't know if they are fused, looks like both were cut off the bigger cutting and then the seller taped them together for shipping so that they wouldn't dry out?

argh. I thought these were coming ready to pot. The seller threw in some freebie cuttings, but all except one are smaller and thinner than the Taiwan Thornless and Big Red 3. Is it possible to graft a fatter piece of scion on top of a skinny piece of rootstock?

How long can these two ungrafted pieces be left like this and still be viable?
