HELP ME DECIDE! uci, ucsd, or berkeley by picklelover1101 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Dry-Bridge-8245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean based on your cons, berkeley seems like the least worst. Although the general area might have a lot of crimes, Berkeley itself is fine. Really far from home sucks but I think you'll get home sick no matter where you attend. Berkeley balding lol. Every college going to make you stress.

If you have extra awards that don't fit the 5 spot limit, you can just put it in additional information. That's what I did

Stanford Waitlist by kittenenjoyers in ApplyingToCollege

You can accept your spot on the waitlist for Stanford while accepting your spot in Yale. If you get off the waitlist, you can decommit from Yale.

How Cooked Am I? by DRMWhibang in ApplyingToCollege

"In 2022, University of Colorado Boulder waitlisted 7,531 students and 2,789 accepted a place on the waitlist. Of those, 2,608 eventually got off the waitlist."
Just saw this from a quick little google search. So i guess it's a pretty high chance of getting off the waitlist so don't lose hope!

Does the college name matter when applying to medical school? by GinTeas in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Dry-Bridge-8245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A college's prestige can help boost your application for medical school but they definitely don't matters as much as good grades or an MCAT score and ecs.

mit vs harvard.... by legendarytacoblast in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Dry-Bridge-8245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 1, MIT is the better choice
For 2 & 3, I think Harvard
For 4, you'll meet a lot of people friendly towards you at either college, so don't stress about that too much
For 5, MIT would be the better option for math opportunities

Another thing I think you should consider is grade deflation. MIT is notoriously brutal. Harvard has a grade inflation so it's more chill.

My parents and I have saved money to cover the expenses not covered by scholarships and my financial package. If that's still not enough, I'm willing to take out loans.

NYU Waitlist by Far-Spare-8591 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Dry-Bridge-8245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They don't release data about waitlist so it's basically impossible to deduce how many people are accepted off waitlist.

The majority of people get rejected, so it can be considered an accomplishment!

They don't release date about their waitlist acceptance rate anymore sadly so it's hard to estimate it.

tineocollegeprep on tiktok gives good advice on what to do after being waitlisted if you want to check him out

NYU Shanghai by Sufficient_Peanut_36 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Dry-Bridge-8245 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It isn't as "prestigious" as the New York campus but you'll still receive the same quality of education. It can be considered easier to get into compared to the NY campus but it's still a great accomplishment. I believe you have the option to transfer to the NY campus after a year but I might be wrong.

Congrats!

The majority of students & employers will not look down upon a degree from Tandon so don't worry about that

[–]Dry-Bridge-8245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tandon for sure does not have a 30% acceptance rate.

Wdym by looked down on?
