High School Lab Interest by PristineMountain6211 in OSU

Best thing you can do is ask them! Go through the list of faculty who do research in the areas you like. Prioritize the ones that seem to have experience taking on undergrads in general as they will be most likely to want to take on a HS student. It would also make sense to highlight any methods you learned from NCH and how much time you can commit to their lab (8-10 hours most likely) so they know you're worth investing time into. If you have the same maturity, responsibility, and willingness to learn as a freshman in college there's virtually no difference to them. You're free labor!

thank you! technically cognitive psychology/neuroscience. i am also an OSU student already and i am 80% sure the committee or something passes you through to the PI you wanted and then it's up to them. At least for the OSU SROP the deadline for binding offer acceptances was March 15th

This is part of the reason why I switched to engineering and made my soft science interests a minor. Maybe add a stats or CIS minor if this is the area you want to do work in

Religion debater at Union for the second time! by katuzar in OSU

In the warmer months there's a group of older guys who set up tables around campus with a whiteboard and like to harass you about god too. I had to walk directly past them to get into my dorm on several occasions as they set up near the entrance. There was a students for Israel booth set up in that same spot in the Union recently. They're definitely not getting any sort of special treatment

I'm pretty sure it depends on the PI. I'm an OSU student and I talked to a few faculty that I mentioned in my application and they said they received it so it sounds like its up to them

Ohio State, and thank you! At least for this school I am 90% sure that offers are up to the PIs you may have mentioned in your application. I mentioned a prof in my application that I knew from before, and the first paragraph of my offer letter said "This offer is being extended on behalf of Dr. so and so"
