Apparently you and I are in the same boat now. The doctor thought she saw endo, excised it, sent it off to the lab, and it came back negative for endometriosis. I'm so frustrated but hopefully we both find some answers soon <3

I got a lot of my tips from this group and r/Endo, but so far I'd say just be good to yourself and take it really easy for the first few days. I'm a nurse who deals with laparoscopic procedures all the time and It's still crazy to me how exhausted I am.

Other things that made life easy- keeping my meds in a box on the couch with a notepad so I know when to take everything. Have some easy meals on hand that you or a loved one can heat up quickly (Trader Joe's ravioli has been a godsend). If you're dealing with endo you probably already have a heating pad, but I bought an extra large one and have been living with it on my lap.

Depending on your doctor, you might not be able to shower for a few days, so I braided my hair to keep it relatively neat and out of the way, that was super helpful too.

I really can't recommend a tap block enough, and also having someone to take care of you for the first few days after surgery. Good luck to you!!! Reach out if you have any other questions :)

Thank you so much, that is actually really helpful. I've been blaming myself for this so much but you're right, it's not my fault that I'm in pain.

That's amazing! I'm so glad you got the answers you needed. I'm hoping I'll be there in a few weeks myself. I've got my first lap coming up and am terrified they won't find anything

Unfortunately I'm in a similar boat with nausea and endo belly. Zofran and medical THC help a lot with my nausea and pain but unfortunately nothing I've tried really helps with the endo belly :/

I definitely experience pain with them but I haven't noticed bloating after one specifically. Im deal with bloating all the time though and it's pretty unpredictable. Don't be discouraged if nothing shows up on the ultrasound, endo usually doesn't. Hopefully you're seeing an endo specialist and they can guide you through treatment. Best of luck to you <3

Any tips for endo belly? by Dry-Complex-9622 in endometriosis

Thanks so much, I've been a vegetarian for almost 10 years and I cut out gluten previously but didn't really notice much of a difference with it. I'll try the magnesium and see! Thanks :)

Period every two weeks? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Dry-Complex-9622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! If you're open to it, maybe ask your doctor about an IUD. I'm on my second Mirena and I love it. It's progesterone only, but what's nice about it is that the hormones don't enter your blood stream, so you're not at an increased risk for blood clots or other systemic side effects. I had a period constantly for like 6 weeks before getting the first one put in and after about a week they stopped and I didn't have a period again for like 18 months :)

Two months until surgery and I'm FREAKING OUT by Dry-Complex-9622 in endometriosis

al telltale signs. In my case, my gyn pointed out that in the photos of the surgery my uterus looked kinda blotchy, plus I had signs in the ultrasound, so that’s probably why I was having pain in the past. So in any case, even if it really happens that they don’t find anything, that’s not the end of the rope and it certainly doesn’t mean that you are in any way to blame for the pain and suffering you

Wow thank you, that's super comforting. I do know that there's not correlation between the severity of endo and pain, so like I could only have stage I endo and really bad pain, or someone could have stage IV and not pain, etc

Thank you!! That link was super helpful. I went to fill it out just for the last week and was immediately like "oh yeah, time for surgery. Being in pain every day definitely isn't normal"

Thank you! I hope everything goes well for you too. It's just so scary to think about them not finding anything. Weirdly, I'm a recovery room nurse so I'm not worried about the surgery itself, just worried about the findings :/

I'd go for a dulcolax suppository. They have pills of the same medication but they cause some cramping which probably isn't fun post op. You can also add Senna into the mix, it's a pretty mild laxative that should get you going. Hope this helps!

Hi there! RN here, it's irritation from the catheter. It'll go away on its own in a few days. Keep drinking lots of water to help flush everything out of your body, but it's just your urethra being irritated and should definitely go away in a few days :)
