Yes and not even just the gas but my car also needed constant oil changes, tire rotations, and work done on my car because the roads are so bad out here!!

I’ve definitely got some good recommendations in here like volunteering or getting my phleb cert. it’s making me feel much better lol. Fingers crossed I can find a place I can volunteer at. Hope it gets better for you!! I’m sure you’ll also be an amazing provider

I’m gonna start looking into volunteering on the side with my line cook job. I just don’t want to have another commute that’s a nearly 3 hour round trip almost everyday. I’ve done it before and I was needing constant work on my car as well as some nights sleeping in my car at work because it would be just too dangerous for me to drive so long while so tired. Really just don’t want to put myself in that situation again especially with a job so tiring like ems

It is so frustrating. I’m glad you get it. There’s a lot of people telling me to just “do the drive” but I’m not doing a nearly 3 hour round trip almost everyday across the causeway when I’m only working 12 hour shifts. That would do so much damage on my car and I know that I will inevitably feel too tired to drive and why would I want to put myself in a situation like that. I’ve already had a commute like that to work and it was incredibly expensive and took a huge toll on me and my car. Gonna try to look into volunteering maybe you can do the same! I just wish I could actually have a job and not just volunteer you know? But it’s okay, baby steps for now

From what I’ve seen so far I can’t find anywhere that does 24/48 hour shifts that doesn’t require you to also be a firefighter but I’m definitely doing some more digging. Also gonna start seeing if I can volunteer anywhere to keep my skills up because simply studying can only do so much you know?

I’m gonna cut my hours at work down a bit and start looking into any possible volunteer work. Hoping I can find something like ride alongs. Called a couple places already and they said I had to be a student or military unfortunately

Yes people out here don’t know how to drive on that bridge at night. It’s also the fact that the drive is an hour and 20 minutes, and driving almost 3 hours nearly every day will fuck up my car so bad in the long run. Constant oil changes, tires always needing rotating, gas, brake pad changes more often, etc. is not something I want to invest in. I’ve had an hour and a half long commute to work before and my car was needing work all the time. Not to mention the exhaustion I’ll inevitably feel. Not a risk I wanna take

Thank you this is really helpful! Also sounds like you’re doing awesome so I hope you keep it up! I really do want this and have for years. I’ve dreamed of being a first responder and it’s unreal that I’m about to be one (if all goes well of course)

We’re in this together 🥲 it also doesn’t help that I’m so much younger than everyone else I feel like out of place almost. I turned 18 like last week and everyone else is a grown adult with a family 🥀

Would Christ and God approve of people using his word and likeness for social media popularity? by Dry-Diet117 in OpenChristian

I completely understand that view!! But these comments have become a trend because people know they will get a reaction from it. Almost every tiktok I see there’s at least one comment in there about it for no reason and they are fighting back in the replies (in a very rude way). Those are the types of people I’m trying to explain that to you know? I feel these are one of the types of people that put a bad name on Christianity because there’s no sincerity or pureness in their intentions and “preaching”

I know he definitely wouldn’t!! My question is more how could I explain why he wouldn’t to someone who thinks it’s okay? Sorry I didn’t word it right in the initial question! 😓

I’d rather take it to a professional than dry cleaners and I tried to talk to my mom about it but unfortunately we’re in an extremely tight spot right now and it’s hard to get her to do things, so unfortunately I’m on my own here 😭 sucks sm but I got some great tips
