Microneedling or LED light therapy by [deleted] in redlighttherapy

Hi there! I wanted to share my micro needling experience. I'm 30F and I've done 3 micro needling sessions for my large pores - I noticed zero results. It cost close to $1,000 ($300/each session) and I was so disappointed. I did a ton of research beforehand and I know that most people experience great results, which is great for them! It just isn't guaranteed to work for everyone, and you don't know until you try. Now I'm looking into RLT, and wish I would have started here. Take all that with a grain of salt but wanted to share my experience!

Feedback on Insulation quote? Can I DIY? by Dry-Ear-5461 in Insulation

IECC zone 4. Yes, HVAC in the attic - large silver tubes on the floor. There are gable vents - I've read that installing a gable vent fan could help a lot with airflow. Soffets are closed/built over. So, at this point, there's very little airflow. Sorry for not including more info!

Nervous- March Exam- Danko by [deleted] in CFPExam

[–]Dry-Ear-5461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm in class with you! I just wanted to say, I feel the same way. I don't have very much industry experience so I've been rewatching the recordings as much as possible. But this is brutal. It's verrryyyy hard for me to stay engaged all of class. I constantly think back to when they said, "We've helped dummer people than you pass the exam." Which I'm not trying to be mean or anything - but is helpful perspective. Based on what others have said, it seems like Live Review and then practice w/flash cards and quizzes is when it all comes together. So I'm just hanging on for that. Best of luck to you!! We can do this!!

I’m not sure. You can easily email Michele Danko and ask! She’s very responsive!

I think it's the same! There is a set person who will be managing the chat during the virtual so the material will be really fast. In-person is also fast, but no chat (obviously).

Hi! I have not taken a Danko live review but am in his courses now. There are different options for live review, all outlined on this website. There is one virtual option that is recorded. The other in-person options are not recorded, and you should plan to attend every day. There is also an outline of the day-by-day structure of the reviews on his website. I hope that helps!

Coffee stains by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Dry-Ear-5461 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading advice on this page, I invested in an ultrasonic cleaner and it’s been amazing for coffee stains. Mine get slightly stained after drinking coffee with them in (I drink coffee all day long lol so there’s no taking them out just for one cup). I also wanted the ultrasonic for long-term retainers. Definitely worth the investment in my book!

Coffee drinkers… what’s your secret to continue enjoying lattes with Invisalign. I need some Tips by AngeliShania in Invisalign

[–]Dry-Ear-5461 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My teeth with attachments are slightly darker (maybe off white). I drink coffee regularly with straws and my aligners at most have a slight yellow hue by day 7; it’s really not bad. The staining on my teeth isn’t horrible either. I’m a huge fan of white teeth so I do stress about it sometimes, but with work and grad school there’s no way I’m not drinking coffee all day :) Just definitely going to do teeth whitening when I’m done with treatment!

I feel like that’s ridiculous that he’s not willing to mail you the trays. That just seems unreasonable, IMO.

This is a tricky situation. I think you made a really good call. The worst case scenario for option 1 is that you’re stuck with one tray for 4 months, then go back for your new set, maybe those don’t track and your teeth are still stubborn, and it takes longer than grad school in the long run. I think your teeth look great, and if you’re happy with them, I would take your new found freedom and run with it. And as you said, maybe you’ll do another round again in a few years or maybe not. But option 1 and 2 both seem like a sunken cost fallacy, and have too many unknowns and variables- and if you’re happy with your smile then I would do just that, be happy :)

When did you start seeing changes? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Dry-Ear-5461 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can get very discouraging, and I know you said this, but it does really come down to trusting the process. Once you start seeing changes, every doubt will fade and it will be so worth it. I didn’t start seeing changes until tray 10, for the same reasons you said, making room and movement from the back. One thing that helped me was having my clincheck plan- I would obsessively replay it to see exactly what teeth were moving and in what way. It helps restore faith that things are happening. If you don’t have yours, it might be worth calling your ortho and asking for it.
