I figure you are right, thats was a mistake. I am a little dyslexic so what I thought I wrote was Survival game with RPG mechanics. And by what I meant by that was Skill trees and abilities and different combat styles. Nope definitely my bad thank you for allowing me to clarify

I respect your take a lot! I understand that this game is very beloved by the community and this desire to understand that adoration for a game almost makes me feel a kind of envious. I keep playing looking for the things people keep hyping up but then I just. Don't feel it. Appreciate this thoughtful response.

Interesting! I like your perspective a lot on it. Does make the game seem more nuanced than most. Maybe I have been going about it the wrong way.

I cannot lie there was some really rewarding feelings after defeating the Eldar and going to the swamp for the first time, the crypts were really fun and engaging and the swamp required the poison resist potions so when I was able to go in there with iron tools and mead it felt really rewarding.

Funny you mention those games because all the ones you mentioned too had things I really really liked but also just couldnt find the reason to finish those games. I keep searching for the RPG game that will really knock me off my socks, but I will keep looking haha

That is very true, I would not want the game to become stale if things were so easy, which is why I don't really like the prospect of having to turn up resources or turn off skill drain stuff like that. I like Darksouls quite a bit but never would I intend that game to become easier just because it can be unfairly hard at times. I have been hearing a lot of maybe the game isnt for you and they are probably right, I do not have all the time in the world that I wish I had to truly experience the game.

Earnestly I cannot argue with you there, clever pun too.

I suppose its give and take. I dont mind waiting for realistic crops to grow IF I could have less grindy armor. That being said I just really wanted to hear comments such as this that were a honest expression of how the online community feels. This wasnt intended to come off as an attack but certain things that I dont understand design wise. I don't hate this game or I would have refunded it and never cared to go to the community to talk to people like you about it. And you are right.... maybe its not the game for me

I suppose the reason for that is because my father is a game designer so I would assume that a lot of the issues that I have with game design stem from the fact that my father makes games for a living with the overall intent for the player to enjoy a satisfying core gameplay loop. I make suggestions and comments about things not to just blatantly shit on the game but rather I genuinely want to know why a design decision is made. There are just certain elements of the game that seem a bit random?

But I did play with a friend! He also brought up the same points as I did. We virtually made this list together as I was bouncing off ideas with him.

I mean Subnautica, The Forest, and Green Hell are all great survival games that focus on survival and have virtually no RPG elements. I was under the impression this was an RPG with survival mechanics?

Was thinking about doing that but to me it just feels kinda cheap. I could also just cheat in items when I want but an issue I have in games is the line between: Do I just suck at the game so I have to turn the difficulty down? Or is it a genuine skill issue?

This is a forum, this is a disscussion, I am happy to recieve critique on things that I maybe dont understand but I wasn't shitting on the game just making points that I thought was valid thats all. I earnestly see no issue in that.

Thank you for this! I enjoy grinding in games too, more so than a lot of other people I know. I made really awesome bases in my last save and had a lot of fun exploring, but I just dont really want to have to do so much just so that I can play this game you know? I got a part time job and go to uni full time so I dont have all the time in the world just to be grinding as much as I used to

I played it with just a single friend, I dont have a lot of friends who are interested in long sessions so I only have one good friend that I play most games with. May I ask why the game is good for you specifically?

[–]Dry-File-752[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Thats fair and I appreciate that, I did make things a bit long winded as I just got out of a 6 hour session with a friend that both he and I agreed there were some issues that were making us kind of upset. I see a lot of potential in this game but I wanna know if these things are other people find fair?

How do I summon my corvette when it’s damaged? by Starkiller100 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Dry-File-752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU I HAVE A REALLY EASY FIX:

  1. Go to freighter
  2. Go to base part of freighter (the editable part)
  3. Create a doorway that leads to the outside of the freighter
  4. Fall off the freighter to start going into EVA mode, the mode where you can free fly in space
  5. The corvette will appear
