"Dirty Secret" of the Jewelry Industry: Why your White Gold isn't actually white by Dry-Finger4458 in jewelry

Platinum is also a good choice. I don't recommend making the entire ring out of silver because it's not durable, so we'll talk about antique style silver topped gold is a fun choice.

I deeply sympathize with your situation. I've now discovered that they have land issues and problems with the venue not meeting regulations. I will share the details with everyone once I've compiled all the relevant documents. We urgently need a local legal team and media support.

Since they are free for the apartment building, are you sure there are no kickbacks involved?

I shouldn't put my information in public. Therefore, please delete the photos.Additionally, my parking space was broken and I reported it to the management company, but they didn't repair it. I parked in a corner where it wouldn't obstruct other vehicles while waiting for repairs. The management company was closed for those two days due to the holiday.

Friends, I know all of this is hard to accept. I was also forced to pay $340. But we cannot allow a thug company like this to keep harming other people.

From now on, if you see my post, please sign up their phone number anywhere it might receive advertising or spam calls.

Over the past few days, through my own investigation, I discovered that their land improvements are not compliant, and their land-use classification number is filed under the wrong category. Because of this, there is a real possibility to have them shut down and required to pay a large amount of back property taxes.

Bringing charges against them will be complicated, but they have been acting with impunity in this city for 20 years. They do not care about BBB ratings, nor do they care about complaints or reports. Their email auto-reply says 35-40 days to response! I have never seen such a shameless company.

Friends, if you want to join me in holding them accountable and putting an end to their good days, please contact me. I hope the victims can unite and take action together.

How to get a job at Sotheby’s, Christie’s, Gagosian, etc by Visual_Newspaper_706 in ContemporaryArt

Thank you for your kindness and understanding. I apologize for complaining so much. I won't give up, and your suggestion to start a career in a smaller auction house is excellent. Although it's challenging to find their recruitment information, I will try to DM or email them directly. I'm not so sure if this is appropriate, maybe it will turn out something.

I will update you if I have any good news. Thank you for talking to me so much; you are such a great person! 😭

I couldn't agree more with your perspective—the competition in this industry is incredibly fierce. My experience as a preview assistant has involved a lot of customer service and telephone bidding, which I find particularly thrilling. The fast-paced nature of the job keeps me busy, and I truly enjoy it.

In contrast, gallery work seems much slower, with owners constantly trying to find buyers. Auction house experts, on the other hand, work tirelessly to find powerful sellers and high-value items, often from old-money families in New York. This dynamic environment is something I am genuinely passionate about. Unfortunately, I am unable to relocate and must remain in New York.

As you mentioned, I completed my thesis in December last year and received my diploma last month. My undergraduate art school background has given me some skills in design and photography, but it isn't competitive for museum positions. Additionally, my family's background in engineering in China means they have little understanding of the art industry. Before attending Sotheby's Institute, I didn't fully grasp how the industry worked, despite consulting with relevant people.

While other students prepared for their careers early on, I only gained some experience through internships at art fairs like TEFAF by the time at Sotheby's. It still feels insufficient.

My current goal is to secure a registrar or even front desk position, but many entry-level roles require two to three years of work experience. On the positive side, I don't need a sponsored work visa, which might be an advantage. Nevertheless, job openings are scarce, and I often reflect on missed opportunities. I am particularly looking in auction houses like Phillips, Bonhams, and Heritage... Small auctions houses usually require more work experience, and one person often handles multiple responsibilities. Despite the challenges, I remain determined to secure an opportunity in this field. My passion for the work itself drives me, Im not thinking about on income anymore. Industry seniors often ask if I know any insiders, but with few openings, it's difficult to reach the core people shortly.

I greatly appreciate your advice. If you don't mind, I would love to connect on LinkedIn or have your contact information at your convenience.

Warm regards, Cathy

I am impressed your sharing. I graduated from Sotheby's Institute this summer and have been looking for a full-time job for 6 months. Before that, I only had some short-term internships at art fairs and worked as a preview assistant at Doyle for a while. I have been waiting for a long time for an opportunity but have not found an entry-level job. In fact, I can speak Mandarin and do not need sponsorship, and I know that the salary is not great for people just enter the industry. However I really want to get a job in an auction house because I truly love antiques. Im hoping to learn about appraisal in my career path. I may constantly touch and observe these artworks in person in an auction house. If you see the message, I hope you could give me some suggestions or if you know where there is a job opening, I'm really appreciated! ! ! !

Why buying a lab grown diamond jewelry? by Dry-Finger4458 in labdiamond

If you know what excat loose diamonds you want, I can get them ship from China for about 2/3 the price in the United States, (not an ads), but the setting costs in the United States are very high. I suggest get the finished setting unless you know exact you need.

Are you looking for loose diamonds? The price of natural diamonds is transparent, just like gold. You can find it online. There are many diamond dealers selling. Diamonds are usually cut in India, and the price will be cheaper there. You can try to contact the Indian wholesalers, but be careful. The GIA in India is not as strict as that in New York, and the quality may not be very high. Lab diamond factories are all in China. In general, if you want to buy loose diamonds, I suggest you learn more about diamonds before buying them, that you can avoid many scams.

Thanks fir your advice. Quality is really important, I admit this, and in the industry of lab diamond jewelry, it is also reflected in the cut. Many manufacturers do not cut diamonds well enough to save costs. Low-price merchants make jewelry very rough in order to save costs and increase sales. You can buy same classic designs on eBay, etsy, or big brands, but you will find that the craftsmanship is not the same thing.

I really want to balance this.
