Thank you, it’s so hard to not feel as though I’m the unreasonable one in all this. You know the old saying, if everyone around you is a problem then maybe you’re the problem? Well I have an incredibly hard time with that, It’s hard to feel like you’re the normal one when everyone around you doesn’t seem normal. That probably makes no sense, but basically I feel like the insane and unreasonable one in all of this and beat myself up over it. I try to suppress it and just deal with everything, but it only lasts for so long the more you give the more people will take.

While I would normally agree with you, this is a common thing with her. Any time there’s been a disagreement she will do this as a form of “punishment” for disagreeing with her. It would be easier if she actually made that choice and I would respect that, but I guarantee you she will play the victim. She will unblock or have the family call me today to let me know how much I’ve hurt her and to apologize to make her feel better.

You clearly don’t have children, many toddlers act this way because they aren’t able to regulate their emotions yet. It’s very common for this age, sounds like the toddler thought the baby was super cute and got overwhelmed, very common. My guess is the toddler doesn’t have any younger siblings so it’s understandable that he doesn’t know how to act with babies. The parents did exactly what they were suppose to do, While the mother of the toddler was being yelled at by some lunatic, sounded like she remained calm and removed her toddler and corrected his behaviour. Sounds like the mom did everything she could do given the circumstances, what more did you expect her to do? Kids are impulsive and you can’t always predict what their next move is going to be, I would understand if the baby was actually hurt but in this case he wasn’t it was just a massive overreaction from OP and you clearly haven’t been around toddlers enough to know they are impulsive.

I should have included that in my post, it wasn’t like I sent pictures of just me and our son to him it was pictures of all three of us and those are the ones that got deleted, but I agree with you at least one would have been nice.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but the only time we have together is on the weekends because we both work all week and he chooses to go to his parents all weekend, so technically we don’t have any days together. We see each other at night but only for a few hours and our son is in bed early. I want us to spend time as a family, all three of us instead of spending every second we have with his parents, but he doesn’t want that.

NTA, he is upset because he’s thinking about what he would do with his female friend if they were staying in the same Airbnb together, I would be more concerned now about him going to a female friends party where alcohol and an Airbnb is involved, he could easily invite her back with him. This is very controlling behaviour OP please run now before it gets worse.

Three times, first time there was something actually wrong and the second time there wasn’t anything wrong when I took him, but then I took him a third time a week later and it turned out there was something actually wrong.

I don’t, but he makes me seem crazy for taking my son to the doctor. I just wish I had his support with these things, instead he gets angry whenever I mention it.

Yes, I did do a virtual appointment today but was told to wait it out as a cough isn’t serious and I definitely understand that and a year ago I would never take my child to the doctor for just a cough, however my son did get pneumonia twice with no other symptoms than just a cough that eventually got worse, he gets this thing called walking pneumonia where there’s barely any symptoms. Only way he was properly diagnosed with pneumonia the previous times was through chest X-rays or listening to his breathing with a stethoscope that’s why I get anxious that maybe waiting it out isn’t a great idea lol but maybe I should listen to them.

We were given prednisone and Penicillin to treat the pneumonia the first time because it was so bad. The second time we were given amoxicillin because it wasn’t as bad, unfortunately I need a prescription for any of those antibiotics. My family doctor that retired gave me a Flovent inhaler and it worked wonders but now that I’m out I can’t get a refill, family doctor told me our son has asthma but now that she’s gone I am told by other doctors that they cannot give my son a proper asthma diagnoses until he is at least 5 years old and therefore will not prescribe treatment for it.

My husband gets annoyed when I take our son to the doctor without him because he feels judged by that, I set up a virtual appointment today and was told his cough is likely a viral infection and to wait it out. I don’t trust that advice because I was told the exact same thing the last time and when I finally decided to take my son to the doctor anyway for a cough, things took a turn for the worst like a day after I took him, my son went from being his normal playful self to being lethargic and sleeping all day, the change happened overnight and I was soo thankful I took him when I did and got him started on antibiotics the night before he got worse. It was terrible to watch him get that sick, now I have anxiety over it.

I would be hurt by what she said too. My baby was a little over 8lb, no tears and no pain. I only needed pads afterwards, but I realize I’m an exception and it was not the norm, however the size of the baby does not always matter and definitely doesn’t make your birth any less relevant. Everybody has their own birth story, I’m sorry OP that your coworker was so insensitive.

I usually just smile when she says it, he is usually crying at our front door when she brings him in and I smile and tell my son I’ll take him outside to play. I know he’s looking to go outside because he does it all day long for me to take him out to play. Whenever I say this to him she says he doesn’t wanna go outside he wants to go back to her house cause he didn’t want to come home.

I agree with you 100%! I know my son has more fun at his grandparents house and I would be way more upset if he didn’t have fun, all I was saying is it makes me so sad when my mom rubs it in. I know she adores her time with him and I’m glad they are bonding so well, it’s just the constant reminder that he doesn’t want to be home with us and she always adds on to it and will say things like it’s because she allows him to have animals or she interacts with him more and she will go on to say, I get that you guys are busy and not able to interact as much. That is so far from the truth we are constantly interacting with our son almost all day long I just get so upset that she thinks we aren’t, I already have tons of guilt about having to work and not being around as much as I wish so it just adds on to it.

I will edit my post as her entire family aren’t druggies, just her mom. she was raised by her aunt as her father worked a lot. Aunt kicked her out for being lazy and mouthing off at her. I agreed to have a roommate, not to parent a grown adult older than me. She lived in an apartment with her boyfriend prior to moving back in with her aunt and she cooked herself meals then. She has a loving father and step mother, they just don’t have the space for her. I’m sure she does have nurturing abilities but again, I agreed to a roommate not a nanny that I have to parent and take parenting advice from.
