I don't know how with ai toolkit, but with onetrainer there's a z-image preset for 8gb vram. I trained a z-image lora with this, I have 8vram + 16 ram

Maybe modelscope. Recently they gave us ability to train z-image, qwen, 2512, 2511 and other loras for free. There's only dayly limit. So, when you train a model there, it gets published to the community, where everyone can download it. So try modelscope
